MOE Seminar for Parents
======================
To support parents and students in making informed decisions about education pathways, MOE conducts seminars on primary and secondary school education for parents with children in K1/K2 and Primary 6 respectively.
Our seminars are conducted at various locations for parents’ convenience.
The upcoming one is listed below.
Seminar Details
==============
Preparing Your Child for Primary School (A Parent Seminar by the Ministry of Education)
Starting primary school is a big step in your child’s life.
To help you better understand primary school programmes and enable you to make key education decisions, the Ministry of Education will be conducting a seminar on Primary School Education.
At the seminar, parents can look forward to sharing sessions by the school principal and a parent volunteer, as well as view the various programmes our primary schools provide.
The Primary Education System
===========================
Mrs Wong Bing Eng, Principal, St Andrew’s Junior School
The Primary School years are focused on giving students a good grasp of English Language, Mother Tongue and Mathematics; as well as helping children build character and cultivate good values and habits. Mrs Wong will share with parents an overview of Primary School Education.
Supporting Your Child in Primary School
Mdm Faezah Jonit, Parent Volunteer
With the right support from parents and schools, children will be able to adapt well and build a strong foundation for learning. Mdm Faezah will share practical tips on how to prepare your child for primary school so that he or she can have an enjoyable school experience.

i attended the one last year by MOE and the venue is at MOE at buona vista on a sat morning. quite informative except the part when they invited the CDC to give talk about financial help and where to go for help. You can go to MOE site and see if they have another session cos they seems to have sessions twice a year

Hi I just wanna to find out if we register our child for next year 2012 primary one in take under Phase 2 a ( Parent formally from the same primary school) and if our child application is successful and finally get a place in that school, but if we parents last min change our mind and we decide to go for our second choice of the other primary school for her and can we still able or go for another registration for another primary school nearby our house instead which is less than 2 km and even with or without any balloting required? Please advise? Thanks

understood from my friend's experience was that your child's particulars are alr locked in the system and you can register with another sch unless you de-register the name from the first sch. But why would you want to do that if your child is accepted by the first choice sch? -
I am registering my son for next year intake. Apply for PV in 2 schools last yr.
Both are unsuccessfully. I have narrow down Yuneng as my 1st choice and
Fengshan as my 2nd choice. just wonder which one should I go for which stands a better chance? Very stressful. -
Moderator's note:
Please discuss MOE's review of P1 registration process in the following thread found in Recess Time Section:
http://www.kiasuparents.com/kiasu/forum/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=32400
Kindly refrain from discussing about this topic in this thread.
Thank you. -

The former parent school in the first choice is a mixed school and now is in the top 20 ranking. however, we do not want to over stress ourselves or put so much stress on our girl. On the otherhand we wish to put her near to our home and the second choice is a girl school and probably less stress for her and parents as well.. Thanks for your reply -
