Yes laughing cat, I am all for the system of old boys/girls to stay. I don’t believe in paying fees to join alumni to get into phase 2A1 and be sleeping members. Phase 1 should stay…but kept strictly for Singaporeans. How many kids are there in most families now ? Not 3 or 4, or else govt won’t be so desperate to introduce measures for us to procreate.

Let me guess, r u:abolish the phase 1 sibling scheme. There're far too many PR children inside the Phase 1 sibling scheme now. Every child just re-queue for their turn - whether SG born citizen or PR kid, when comes to P1 registration.
retain the alumni. Most of the alumni's kids are SG born citizenship - those who studied in SG 30 years ago tend to be fellow Singaporean, \"ka ki lang\" - compared to more PR kids found inside phase 1 sibling scheme.
IC in future also more strict, no more hanky panky loophole.
IC should indicate if address is genuine residential or rental, and shifted in how long ago ? minimum must show at least 3 years stay, prior to P1 registration.
if IC states that is a \"rented\" house, lower priority compared to genuine residential case - go behind and queue up.
1) Singaporean
2) An old boy/ girl of a reputable school & is aiming to send your child there
3) Currently owns a ppty
You see, I find your suggestions totally ridiculous, especially the removal of sidlings priority. That to me is the ONLY priority that should be retained. The rest, I say review or withdraw.
As for not allowing rental ppty, c'mon, do you know there r people who do not believe (or afford) in buying a ppty? Especially with the sky high price now. To tie the school admission to ownership of ppty is quite absurd. Actually, it's quite obvious you only have your self interest at heart. -
Wah!! I sure hope they dont remove the siblings phase!! I have 3 kids! N I cannot imagine the logistic nightmare n the escalating cost I would have to go through if this scheme is removed n my boys suay suay don’t get into the same school!!

=>phttph, can you see how ridiculous your suggestion is? To compensate for the 'lose' of vacancy from your phase 2A, you actually thought of poaching it from phase 1 by capping it. I bet if you have a child waiting to enter school via phase 1, you wouldn't suggest capping it...gosh, I'm still very upset how can you be so selfish as to think of such a stupid idea! -

Phttph is one of the most helpful parents on this forum.
She is just throwing out ideas which is what we are doing too. Her idea may not be great but to call her the 2 'S' is unnecessary.Some suggestions thrown out in this thread may be fair to some but to others no it ain't.
So do listen to the mod's suggestion. -
