Following is an extract from Yahoo News:
The Ministry of Education (MOE) scholar in question, Sun Xu from China, was referring to his unpleasant experience with Singaporeans as he brushed against them.
A rough translation of his Chinese blog post read: \"It's so annoying to have gangster Singapore uncles stare at you when you bump into them. There are more dogs than humans here in Singapore.\"
Such rude and ignorant behavior calling Singaporeans gangsters and dogs, the very people that put a roof over his head, fed and clothe him through the years here!
Absolutely fail in 饮水思源
Worst thing is - I was absolutely shock to learn that this 忘恩负义的垃圾 is first brought in by RV from China at sec 3!
This has tarnished the good name of RV and the teachers that taught him. -
Oh really? From where you know that she was brought in by RV at sec 3?
-
Yes. I read in LianHe ZaoBao that he joined RV in sec 3 in 2003 and then went on to RJC.
However, not to be too sweeping. RV also took in many PRC scholars that merged completely well with local students and have expressed their gratitude and love for the school, friends and Singapore. I know because I personally read their comments in facebook. The few teenage years that they spend in RV is the most memorable period in their life. They love RV and their friends here. -
Hi, any RV students or parents who has child taking French as 3rd language? Did they complain about difficulty learning this language? My girl is in Yr 1 and she wanted to quit her French. I am in a dilemma as to let her continue or let her quit. Anyone know the advantages of learning French?
Thanks in advance. -

as RV is a 6-yr IP school, how come many students decide to leave RV after Year 4 for another school?Yes. I read in LianHe ZaoBao that he joined RV in sec 3 in 2003 and then went on to RJC.

The above case was 2003. RV first batch of IP students was from sec1 2006. Rv don't conduct IP from sec 3 like other IP schools and that is why the first batch of A level graduated only in 2010 (which is the batch that was admitted to sec1 in 2006).
In fact, as a new IP school, it is amazing that extremely few RV students wanted to leave at year 4 to join RI or HCI. That partially explain the drop in A level results of the two top schools last year. -

I think the main culprit is there is little chance to practise speaking.
Well, nothing is easy to learn and this includes french too.
I dont know how long my dd can endure before she throws in the towel.
As for the advantages, knowing another language is just like having another pair of hands!
