allcc6:
June holidays very sure will go on as usual. The only breaks will be for any TAS educational camps. I think for higher primary P4-6, classes go on as usual in Dec (not clear about lower P levels).
U mean for this June holidays, there are no breaks at all?
What happens if the children go overseas on holidays? Will TAS pro-rate term fees or provide replacement lessons during other weeks in June?
But I understand from DS that teacher did mention in class that most pp dun go for 1 month holiday, if advanced notice is given, I think (I haven't verify) they will pro rate the fees. So far they've been ok - like when DS got school/music stuff.
Will verify more this weekend when I send DS to class. I hope they give leeway (more than 1 week) - pp going for long holidays may well have to miss 2 lessons or more leh. it's already tough enough planning holidays. -
hi,
Yes I also got the letter and asked them about it because this June, I need to bring my family to the States to visit my sister for a whole month. They say some kids need to go back to their own country for the hols, they will prorate for that period they are away but it is more for parents who request the whole June off because they need to go overseas for a long period. Otherwise, they allow two lessons to be prorated for term 2. -
Thanks N.Lo. Guess won’t need to check with them.

Hi hquek
Can i check if your DD has received a storybook from his teacher?
Are they supp to read the book and return next week?.. Are they implementing some kind of book review thingy?.. :scratchhead:
as usual mine couldnt tell me what he needs to do. -
Hi ilovechubby,
Yes, he got a book. They are supposed to read and return. Given 2 weeks to read if need be, don’t have to return the next week. -
Thanks hquek!

Hi TAS parents
May I know whether the pro-ration is equivalent to 1 lesson fee? I also understand they allow 1 credit per term if we missed a lesson. Also equivalent to 1 lesson fee too? Thanks. -

The teacher will ask the child questions about the book when he returns if there is time. I like the book selection in TAS. My kiddo couldnt put down his book, never saw him like that with a book. He bugged me to get other titles by the same author but when I went to Popular and Times bookstore, they do not carry these books. Does anyone know where TAS gets their books? The author is Andrew Norris.Hi hquek

Yes, the storybook selection in TAS is excellent. Of course, not every book may be a hit with your child but they have very good choices amongst their books. Last year, my dd really picked up the habit of reading because of their storybooks.
I asked the teacher abt the books, she says they are specially selected and if they cannot get them locally, they will get them from overseas or they may ask MPH to bring in certain titles.
You could try Book Depository, shipping is free.
