Hi Parents, I wonder did your DS ever have any irresponsible teammates who were either sick or slack in doing project work like Ace project!!! My DS did almost all the slides by himself even during test period while his friends did nothing in contribution. Worst of all they did not even know the importance of the Project that carries substantial weightage in their overall msg. I wonder how can such students be suitable in IP programme. Furthermore in this consortium! They will make all sorts of lame excuse for not turning up for the discussions or meeting. How sad :stompfeet:

It is very common that some ppl slack in project works. Do not worry bcoz very soon the true colour of those who slack will be known by their classmates. So those hardworking ones will team up when there are new projects and score while those slack ones will have to form their own groups and suffer in grades.

Another thing is they are very new to project works and therefore do not know how to delicate the works properly. They usually have to meet up many times and spend long hours and very low productivity. Sometimes it is faster for one person to complete all by himself than to divide the works amongst the team. They will get much better in projects, in term of productivity, delication of works, quality and speed when they come to sec 2 and sec 3. The school is preparing them for Uni and real life. In real life you need to learn to deal with all kind of ppl and get your works done at the same time.

Talking about project. My DS has a team mate who self-appointed himself as Leader which I think the rest of the teammates actually don't mind. But the problem is this so-called Leader is beginning to be 'bossy'. He simply SMS or FB the rest to ask them to do their work and give them tight deadlines. Don't think he himself has done anything so far. I am quite shock to see this in a 13 year old. Thought this only happens in workplace!
The \"leader\" usually will come in last to summarize all d teammates works n do d presentation . That is what my DS do most of d time. But NOT all teammate will produce quality work , esp near the test peroid. So d \"leader\" wil have to pick up d so call work by d teammates n try to correct it .

For students, both is the nric.

For parents, it's the nric with a \"p\" at the front. (e.g. ps1234567a)

Can anyone advise whether is infocomm included in the calculation of MSG? My DS’s teacher told the class that it is included but I remember during the parents’ meeting that some teachers said that it is not. Getting confuse…

Yes it is included in the MSG and this is a \"free\" A1 that everyone must get. This subject is meant to help your MSG.

Hmm.. I assume the message will be posted by the relevant teachers in charge (of that particular CCA). Like mine, DS is appealing to go into NCC, so the EMB message is posted by Ms Lee, the NCC teacher in charge.. requesting for the boys' particulars.

IMHO, if a student did not do his work because of illness, he should not be labelled irresponsible. It's not as if the student wants to fall sick, am I right?
