Agree. Rest is very very very important. Especially with heavier workload beginning P5.

Weather is hot...kids wake up early (morn school)...back to back lessons. My son must take his nap or else he will be a zombie at 7. He definitely looks more refreshed after he wakes up.

      Agree totally, janet. :hugs:

We have two in am session this year. First wake up call is 5:15am and second call ard 5:25am-5:30am, for both to catch the sch bus at 6am. Both girls take turns to wake up at 5:15am.

[I am thinking, if school isn't adding much value to what a child already knows (child may be taught by parents or tutors), and to hothouse with tuition instead? May cut down studying hours from 8 hours to 3 hours daily, and this frees up more time for sports and fun endeavours! Hmm.

Actually I have been wondering if home schooling with help from tuition centers can help the kid to do well in PSLE. That way, by pass the schools and also be able to give kid some breathing space.

          Tuition?

          I strongly think so.

Erm...MOE, are you reading this ? Is it possible for kids to be able to cope on their own ?

I asked my DD1,\" In your class of 40 students, who has NO tuition / enrichment?\" Her reply,\" Mummy, where got people don't have tuition de? All have lah and the top girl has 6 altogether!\" :yikes:
that is why i feel this thread is really disconnected with the real world situation....

we should just sack most of our sch teachers because they ain't doing their job properly. maybe it is also due to the class size of 40.

:offtopic: but I have actually heard that one of the school that produced top PSLE scholar last year has a class size of 45 students in the P4 top class this year! :yikes:

                  Funny leh...P1-2 only 30 in a class. P5 and P6 should stay at 30.
Well, if the top student has 44 classmates, does she have tuition ?
P1/2 still blur blur in school, come P3 they are smarter than the teacher -not academic of course but getting used to the school environment.

But then 25 for GEP class is another story.

The high demand of enrichment classes in the real world vs no need in this thread.

thanks for the vote of confidence! double income is a double edged sword - just means significantly less time to spend at home nurturing kids.
