Yes... this happened to my DS. He came home crying because he was taunted for being a poor student. Well... now he isn't anymore. -

some teachers are too much...they'd need a refresher in Psychology101. Also don't think its good for teachers to announce marks in front of the whole class. Some teachers feel that humiliation is a good motivator...it might work up to a certain point before kids end up as an unfortunate statistic at IMH. -

it seems that for my girl's school, her teachers, maths or english they will announce who has full marks, who are the one fails and how many failed and how many marks are considered pass.Somemore these test are considered mock test, not taken into account. Only starting from term 2, then all these tests result will be taken into account. So i dunno y the need to humiliate, just an encouragement will do the job. -

(1) MOE is world class
(2) All schools are same good
... they won't accept any further thinking or suggestions. We must first get them to admit that there is a need to improve mah... One step at a time. No amount of smart stats will help if they deny that there is a need to improve EVEN BASIC TEACHING EFFECTIVENESS in schools.
