Why is MSHS plagued with such teachers!! DS's Elective Geog's teacher is also questionable. She plays \"The 3 Idiots\" movie for 10min at the end of each lesson. I really want to know how is that related to Geog! I''m really doubtful of her teaching style. Before CT, DS was already concerned that he's not benefitting much from her lessons. I guess the class' performance tells it all about the ability of the teacher in delivery of the subject materials and in preparing the boys for the test/exams. Only 5 passed in the EG CT paper in DS's class. Bravo!!Hi,
Any parents of Sec 3B? How do yr DS find the Physics teacher? Heard fm my DS that he doesn't explain well during lessons and make sarcastic remarks when the boys ask him questions when they don't understand what he's teaching! As a result, nobody dare to ask questions. Majority of the boys in the class failed their Physics in their CA and I think we have to do something otherwise it will affect their 'O' level next year!
Yes, S-H, you really should do something about the Physics teacher while it's still early. I know it's really a drag to have to make an issue out of it in case our sons get blacklisted by the teacher. But what to do if the problem persists? Perhaps you can speak to the form teachers in the upcoming PTM or email them. Last year, many parents complained about DS's English teacher. It was a draggy process that in the end, we even had to reach out to the Prinicpal for help. -

So what do u think we should do? Is there any help if we complained by email or PTM? The teacher may think is our boys that are weak in that subject if we are the only one out of the 30+ boys in the class to complain...:( -

I would still highlight your son's feedback to form teacher. Who knows? Maybe other parents have similar views. Good luck! -

It’s been rather quiet here on MSHS forum…

It sure is! Blitz, how's your DS dealing with A. Math?
A reminder to all parents to find volunteer work for your sons if they are not chalking lots of CCA points. At least get the full 5 CIP points. MSHS only arrange 47 CIP hours by S4. They've to clock the remaining 53hrs outside on their own if you want to get the 5 points. -

CIP points - how to clock remaining 53 hours on their own? Do what to get those points? What are those points for? -

Do read up on LEAPS in their Marist companion or online on how to get the points. Attaining at least 20 points will give them 2 bonus points for their O level results. Means if DS score 10, he can minus 2 from the CCA points, becoming 8 points.
DS did much volunteering work last Nov to chalk up as many CIP hrs as possible. The aim is to complete all the 53hrs by this yr so that he's free to focus on O level next yr. DS can become a volunteer and sign up for activities at sgcares.org. One meaningful activity is 30hr Famine Camp this June. One shot gets 30hrs. It's a great learning opportunity for our overly indulged kids too. -
Thanks Skyjuice.
