The jam is pretty terrible, every morning I’ve to join in the queue (ACPS parents alighting their children at the side gate) to exit to the main road. If to leave home slightly pass 7.15am, be prepared to be jammed at least 15min. I pity those traffic wardens (security officers), witnessed several occasions where they tried to stop moving cars at the zebra crossing but some drivers just ignored them and at times trying to stop parents/children crossing the road, they just simply continue walking. Sigh…
Anyway, after so many years of observation, there’s this very garang security officer (a golden hair with ear stud, big belly Malay uncle) who really did a good job. He often stand in the middle of the road to direct the traffic, many a times raising his voice to reprimand ‘violators’. Heard he’s the TP in ACS transport centre too, summoned and clamped many parents who park illegally at teacher’s lot. Think he must has got many complaints from parents. I salute his professionalism to discharge his duties with no fear and favourism. The school should get more of this kind of ‘talent’ and the traffic woes will be resolved soon! Between, i gotta turn in now, if not tomorrow i’ll be late and get caught in the jam again. Ha ha ha… God Bless! -

Parents of P3 boys… does your son work on the OnSponge Maths workbook? I see that the teacher has recommended my son’s class to buy but he hardly uses it in class. So I am getting my son to work on it at home. I don’t know if the questions are tough for their standard but my son is having lots of problems doing it from topic 1.7 onwards. Help! Is anyone experiencing it like me? I am getting worried about my son’s IQ.

May I ask with parents of P1/P2 here regarding the timing your boy goes to the student care? It seem that we can sign up quite no of CCA so the boy time in student care are very short… I am wondering if it is worthwhile to sign up.

Can I ask if it is easy to get to ACS Primary from Newton MRT station? It’s a few bus stops down and the boys cross a bridge to get to school?

Exit A from Newton station. At bus stop B40181, take SMRT 171 or SMRT 700. Alight 2 bus stops later at Balmoral Plaza (Bus stop no B40051). Walk along the road to the first traffic light. Make a right and cross the road (Bukit Timah Road). Continue walking then cross another road (Dunearn Road). Then make a left and cross Chancery Lane. The school is in front of you.
If you wish to use the overhead bridge you will have to alight at the same bus stop (Bus stop no B40051) then walk to the first traffic light but instead of making a right and cross Bukit Timah Road you will have to walk straight and cross Balmoral Road instead. The overhead bridge is further down the Bukit Timah Road and there is no bus stop there. Although the overhead bridge does provide direct and sheltered access to the school, the gate is usually locked and opens only at specific hours.
Most will use the traffic lights rather than the overhead bridge if they are coming from Newton station.
