I was searching around for a non-stick pan and boy, was I surprised that such a simple thing can take so much time. I thought I got it when I read about the GreenPan..until I read this http://dannyseo.typepad.com/my_weblog/2007/10/green-pan-updat.html 😢

I am sick and tired of searching, can any moms recommend ?
      :?:
You can go to OG, CK Tangs. Tefel, small one is so cute and handy. A must in the family. You can fry anything when you need in small quantity.
15cm or so in diameter. šŸ˜„

ok, allow me to digress. Maybe we should have a cooking thread.

I just want to poll parents out there - how many times could the oil in a deep fryer be re-used ?
It would be great for xchange of cooking ideas and tips.
About re-using oil in deep fryer, if u had just use it for frying some fries that leaves no residue, 1 more time within a couple of days. If u had fried meat or flour-coated item, no re-use. Dats just my habit. Now i will only use it when doing a party where need to fry up a whole load of stuff.

I went to Taka and spoke to an \"experienced\" salesman. He told me that the teflon coated pans are good (Tefal has 5 layers. Meyer has 3 etc), but they must be handled with extreme care. Besides the risk of being scratched, the pan has to be thinly coated with oil while in storage and after cooking, quickly pour hot water to get rid of burnt stains etc.

Besides the coated ones, there are the anodized or fused type. These could last longer because the teflon is not coated. To be honest, I was pretty confused since I am not the home econs type. Since I am engineer by training, I decided to buy both the anodized and the coated types to try out. Will let you people know after 6 months my experiences. šŸ™‚

best not to re-use oil. the oil becomes cancer causing when \"recycled\".

Do you know that there are 100 methods of cooking eggs but only 6 are widely known?

The chef hat has 100 folds and it actually represent the no. of methods in cooking eggs.

              Hehe!
