Politician's Insensitive abt Christianity.. another issue?

I would accept his apology and moved on, just felt wasted if he has potential to serve Singapore, if only he exercised some self control in his brand of sense of humor.

Apparently, this matter still haven't stop. Circulating among some of my Christian friends. Someone complain to police after the FHM magazine incident where they said Simon Cowell could be 2nd Jesus coming. If the leaders of our country, teachers and community leaders all so sui bian about religion and sexy pictures and pornography I think our society soon will be in crisis like America and UK.

Dear Sirs,
I refer to the two articles titled, \"Which of these celebs might secretly be Jesus?\" and \"Jesus 2.0: What can we expect?\" carried by the FHM magazine. I am infuriated by the yet again deplorable deprecation against Christianity in these recent times. It appears that Singaporeans are increasingly losing their moral values and respect for other religions. Diligence and care must be exercised when articles containing such blasphemous content are made available in the public domain. Failing to do so will inevitably incite hatred and jeopardise Singapore's religious harmony.
The FHM article reminded me of a Facebook posting by Siew Kum Hong not too long ago. It was in Feb this year that Siew Kum Hong posted a picture depicting Jesus Christ with the caption: \"FUCKING LAG...TOOK 3 DAYS TO RESPAWN.\" As a I was offended and disappointed that a prominent and educated persona would post such an offensive picture on his Facebook. This photo then made it rounds online as a joke but many other Christians were in fact displeased and hope that something could be done to warn Siew. And unlike a publication, what he has posted online cannot be recalled.
While I applaud the swift response by NCCS that resulted in MDA's demand for the removal of FHM magazine, I cannot help but feel frustrated with NCCS for not taking a firmer stance with Siew's actions. I am also puzzled why MDA, the supposed regulatory body for internet publications, chose to remain silent on this matter.
However, I am most appalled that the Singapore Police Force has chosen to do nothing even as it investigated Donaldson Tan for putting a pig on a holy Muslim icon. Double standards? Are Christians less deserving of public respect as a religion? Is this the practical working of the same logic that former Foreign Affairs Minister George Yeo spewed when he said that Christians are less likely to riot (in response to allowing The Last Temptation of Christ). I urge the Police to investigate the matter and issue Siew a warning, if necessary, for his act has clearly offended Christianity. Treat us as equals.
Again, I urge NCCS to take a serious look into this matter and continue to maintain the honour and dignity of Christianity and all Christians as it has done in the FHM case.
Best regards, [/quote]
