can get married and take the risk if you really love your partner and both equally committed to making it work. both will make mistakes along the way and must learn how to forgive. otherwise better don't because divorce rates is very high and life is very stressful already in sg why want to drag another person. must find someone who can support you rather than treat each other as liability. I kinda agree with this blogger when he say sg is more suitable for those who want to work, ambitious and want to be very successful in life.

However, I am particularly concerned about a peculiarly Singapore problem: We have a two-tiered economy which is not sustainable. We have, on the one hand, a high-productivity and skills-competitive export economy (which includes not just manufacturing but also financial and other services) and, on the other, a low-efficiency, unsustainable domestic economy, which I define as all the businesses which essentially serve customers located in Singapore. By and large, these are small and medium-sized enterprises engaged in retail, construction, hospitality, cleaning, nursing, and the like.

The main reason for this sector's low wages and productivity is the liberal import of unskilled workers in this sector. And it is not sustainable because the increase of such workers required to satisfy the growing domestic economy will be inevitably greater than the ability of infrastructure, such as transport and housing, to keep pace. It is this sector which requires restructuring - rapid productivity increase coupled with wage increase. Prof Lim says that a radical wage increase will force productivity increases. His detractors say that productivity increase must come first. It sounds like a chicken-and-egg argument to me. Both must happen at the same time, and with no delay.

Specific sectors need to be identified; unions, employers associations, and the trade associations in these sectors need to have a coordinated approach. True tri-partism will be required here as the medicine will be painful.

part of it is also because of the taxi companies bidding in Cat A. they like to bid last minute in bulk to secure their COEs so they push up the price. they can get back from those who take cabs. taxi companies cannot bid in Cat A lah...that is for basic cars.

Has anyone heard of this tuition centre call The Learning Lab at United Square? See the links posted below. I have seen their advertisements on Straits Times. Apparently half of the top 20 PSLE scorers come from this tuition centre! I am absolutely shocked! Only the rich can afford such tuition centres. :yikes:

Apparently, this matter still haven't stop. Circulating among some of my Christian friends. Someone complain to police after the FHM magazine incident where they said Simon Cowell could be 2nd Jesus coming. If the leaders of our country, teachers and community leaders all so sui bian about religion and sexy pictures and pornography I think our society soon will be in crisis like America and UK.

I am also puzzled why MDA, the supposed regulatory body for internet publications, chose to remain silent on this matter.

However, I am most appalled that the Singapore Police Force has chosen to do nothing even as it investigated Donaldson Tan for putting a pig on a holy Muslim icon. Double standards? Are Christians less deserving of public respect as a religion? Is this the practical working of the same logic that former Foreign Affairs Minister George Yeo spewed when he said that Christians are less likely to riot (in response to allowing The Last Temptation of Christ). I urge the Police to investigate the matter and issue Siew a warning, if necessary, for his act has clearly offended Christianity. Treat us as equals.

Again, I urge NCCS to take a serious look into this matter and continue to maintain the honour and dignity of Christianity and all Christians as it has done in the FHM case.
