My dd had to go back for cca mon-wed 8.45am-5pm during this school holiday in preparation for syf and now struggling to complete all her hw. When school reopens, she will be staying back for cca on tue (till 5pm) wed(till 3pm), thur (science remedial cos didn't get A for CA1), Maths remedial cos she scored 81 marks for CA1. 85 marks n above no need for remedial). Poor kids are under so much stress nowadays, there's no fun in life at all.....
Hi Whitety,
Which school does your dd go to? Maths scored 81 marks for CA1 is already A, yet still need to go for remedial? :? Could it be supplementary lessons? Maybe you could check with her teacher?
Confirmed it's not a supplementery class as only those below 85marks need to attend. -
This is only PSLE. Yes, it is important, but I don’t want my son to get burnt out just before August or worse, during the exam. I heard there will be extra lessons on Wed in term 2. So far he goes for just suppl on Tue. Other than that, he has tuition at home. So I want him to come back, take a shower, have lunch and rest before tutor comes. Anything extra from term 2 which clashes, I will not agree.
He didn’t score As in any subject for CA1. But there is still time to work on. This should be done in a reasonable way. -
Dear lolmum and Ichigokun
Thanks for all the encouragement!
Well, just spent the past weekduring the break to really sit down and work through maths, science and english with my DS.
Actually, quite a good bonding time with of course some screaming in Between…
So, I take the poor CA 1 results as a wake up call to kids and myself… -
New school term, a new beginning. Good luck to all. Jia you Jia you!

Thanks, we parents definitely need lots of strength to survive the BIG thing. Stress doesn't end on Oct 2nd or 3rd, there is another stress after that - secondary school posting. -

Don't worry fellow parents:) Something to note is that after PSLE, don't ask your child continuously about what they answered during PSLE. They want all the stress and torture out of their heads:)mn:

This is so true and I am speaking from experience. After PSLE is over, you will stress over the results. Then after results are out, you will stress over choice of school. After you have chosen the schools, you will stress over school posting results. By then , it's end of Dec. And when you finally think that the stress is over, the Sec 1 stress begins. -

Hahahaha :rotflmao: no wonder you are in ER (Emergency Room)

Take one step at a time, scale each mountain as it comes lor.
I see PSLE as a journey, for those who embark on this journey together with DS/DD, you will share the laughter and tears of DS/DD. It is one of the rare and last times when you will be this close and involved in his/her life, studies, tuition, school, lessons. After that, most will let go and release the kid in Secondary School, thus the PSLE memory is actually something quite unique to such parents.
