        GG,

You can check out Xuelin in Katong 112. I know that they have sec sch program. My 3 boys are in pri/k2, can’t tell you much abt it but I know they have very dedicated teachers as my boys are having lessons there. All I know or experience is that they have very updated materials and exposing the students to lots of newspaper reading.

Had checked out Xuelin Learning Hub @ Bukit Timah Plaza yesterday as recommended(see quote). I was very impressed with their materials, very updated. Met both the sec 1 & 3 teachers, seems very passionate. My sec 3 gal is very keen but need to arrange the timing. Have already signed up my sec 1 son. You can checked them out too.

Most students face the same problem when reading Chinese. This is basically because of the poor foundation. The passages or readings just do not get through to the readers. So it is suggested to start with easy readings. At the same time, build up your vocab BY CATEGORY. Don’t have to memorise too much in short time. Just 10 words a day will do. It will take some time but you will find yourself more comfortable with reading:D

                      Happy reading!

I do not think you need to worry because their class size is very small. The teachers ensure me that they will be able to take care of each and every one of their students. Yet to be seen, but I am very comfortable with them. I also recommend Xuelin to my very super KS friend; she is also signing up for her children. Now she is rearranging the schedule.
