Wow, expensive weddings. But love can be blind la. A co-worker girl, very ‘smart’. Twist her most recent boyfriend into buying her a diamond ring for $65K and then another new BMW and held their wedding at St Regis, each table cost $1,200 and they have invited every tom, dick and harry on the block - 500 pax. Now the boy is broke and jobless…so not sure what happened. Yes, agree must teach my son to ‘siam’ such material girl. No matter how rich, the rate these girls spend, even if one owns a gold mountain, I guess also to enough to let her spend money like that…scary…

scary … nowadays youngsters spend $ like water free flow.

they never think of rainy days or seasons of dry spell.

some people slog like a cow whole life, don’t even earn close to half a million.

there is this chinese thingy that goes like this

                竹门对竹门,木门对木门。

most people would marry people in the same social circle, same kind of lifestyle. when you are used to spending a certain amount of $$$ on all things, a bit more of that $$$ on anything else is not going to be a problem. $$$ would never run out for most of them cos' they are indeed smart with $$$ management. unless one gambles, investments go bad or family fight over $$$ (actually this might not be a problem), then $$$ might :moneyflies: .

people can spend any $$$ on their wedding. however i find having to attend so many events just to celebrate the union is a bit too 超过,好长气,找苯(in cantonese) cos have to keep giving gifts and angpow。

They have rich parents, it says in the article that their parents paid part of the banquet. Anyway, no matter who paid for the lavish wedding banquet, spending $600K on a wedding is extravagance. After all, a wedding only lasts a day, but a marriage lasts a lifetime. The maintenance of a great marriage is more impt than a lavish weding.

hahaha, both sets of parents paying $600K okay lah.

since own hotel, maybe got discount and free supply of food from suppliers and sponsorship etc.

                      :rotflmao:

couple happy, parents happy, that is all that matters.....
