MFS engaged IQ Kidz and Apple Pie Language to conduct speech and drama lessons for both English and Chinese respectively. Any feedback from parents whose children had gone through these programs? We are still considering whether to our DS. Since it is conducted during the time when he is in the centre, there is no way for us to make any observation of the lesson. So any feedback from parents here would be greatly appreciated. Thanks! 🙂

Hi, my girl joined Apple Pie since she was in Nursery. She is in K1 now and I continue to let her join. She is not very fluent in Chinese so I hope this will intro more Chinese speaking to her. She enjoys the lesson.

Last year she performed a short drama through Apple Pie.. she cried half way though.. 😢 initially I tot she was too shy and too afraid to see so many parents in front of her.. after I found out, it was actually the costume which hurt her neck triggered her to cry.

I can't say much of the program as it is only 45mins/wk. Not much to follow up too.. More on singing and running around.. 😂 as long as my girl enjoys.. ok for me.

will ask for invoice or whatever they called .. as i saw some deduction which i have no idea what's that for.. and from the new website there is $10 discount mthly for sibling.. $10 per month.. one year $120. can buy new year clothes le.. haa

I did ask for the promo thingy and they said its for the new branch or new students. I managed to get $10 discount or waiver of the registration fee for my DS2.

I very long ago cannot view the receipt liao and asked from them if I saw new deductions from the bank statement which will be one mth late.

Still waiting for their new system to be up. Very slow.. Under govt one shd be fast and efficient mah.. sigh :skeptical:

Thanks for sharing... I just want to make sure it is something useful as I don't want to waste money on enrichment just for the sake of enrichment. I guess I just have to let me DS to try out first. 🙂

MFS now has creative dance for N/K1/K2… these are besides the science class, arts class(completing soon as their contract with MFS is expiring), abacus… getting better with their enrichment classes and also they start to use interactive screen to teach (pen to touch screen) … they incooperated creative corners e.g blcok corner, dramatic corners, reading corners, science corners ( DD is enjoying this the most, e.g the dramatic corners as she will come back and tell me what she is acting daily at the dramatic corner with her classmates) then in march they just did their vision check by MOH. lucky thing DD eye sight is within normal range and they give the health check report to parents in seal envelope.

I believe not all centres are enjoying the same enrichment options right? For my son's, they only offer science, art, chinese speech and drama, english and music. It will be good if they can bring in abacus as well. For interactive teaching, I think only few centres have such facilities.

If they can standardize all centres to have the same, it will be great.

I know some centres have kids can bake session occasionally organized by genius-r-us but my son's doesnt have anymore 😞

                    junemum72,

i thk the enrichment vendor are the same, it depends on the principle whether she/he want to bring in, this is my understanding like my DD branch, no chinese drama and speech, bcos less than 5 sign up, they need to have min headcounts. Abacus is popular almost 20 students from k1/K2… the principle is bringing in an assistance beside the teacher to help up and to ensure more attention to all students.

yes, i heard aby the kids can bake session, dun have this in my DD branch and also i read abt skating too in some MFS… haa… but when i ask the principle, she said dun have le

I think the quality of the teachers are more important than enrichment classes

Kiddykiddy, of course, like the name implies… enrichment is to enrich their learning process… add on besides the core learning…
