        Hi fudgemum,

I think there is another thread somewhere in the Primary School academic prep & support, on ‘Maths Olympiad Training’. Anyway, I think you can purchase those mentioned solution books from Learning Interactive Pte Ltd, #04-39 at Bras Basah Complex.

Hi Dharma, mjl, Thanks for your reply. I happened to pass by mathshub and I bought 2007 and 2008 smops edition. Most of the competition books are available there.

Anyone with kids who took SMO(Junior) or SMO(Senior) today? I heard this year's papers are not as difficult as last year's.

                😄

Students got selected into the Singapore International Mathematical Olympiad (SIMO) National Training Team through SMO competitions (mainly the Open category). A selection test is held to pick 6 participants among the National Training Team members, to take part in the annual IMO (the most prestigious Maths competition for high school students) taken part by some 100+ countries. Medal winners at the IMO are well regarded/recognised in the world e.g. Gold medal winner will almost guarantee you a place at Ivy League universities such as Harvard, Oxford, Cambridge, MIT.

If the student is younger and perform well he/she will get selected for free MO training at NUS. Which will increase their chances of performing better for the smo next year.

Thank you justbehappy and coffeecat. My DS took the test (SMO junior) today. I think he "肥佬"le . He told me he could only answer 15 out of 35 questions.
