      Imami:
He doesn't really sit still, so I tot maybe Piano will be a chore. He's very agile and active, so I let him go for akido and gym lessons.

Similarly, I dont drag him to classes which I know he's not keen - dance, speech and drama.
LOL. Mine also jumps around and does all sorts of things during his violin class. Not so much piano bc there on the piano, it's a little bit more restrictive. Altho' he could play nonsense too! For violin, he can run around the studio, use his bow to point and beat at things (urgh). But essentially, he gets the gist of the lesson lah, and he plays.

Oh ya, talking about violin - I dont think he would like it. It's difficult to explain and I am not sure if you understand. You know how some pple are just good at certain things but they may not really enjoy doing it? Like my child, he's good with numbers, doing pri 1 math qns which require prior undertaning on concept like number bonds. But he doesn't work the sums if I don't ask him to.

For musical instrument, I hope he enjoys it. This shd not be just another class that he attends.

Hi, just putting my two cents in this club since my DD (only 1) was born on Dec 2008. 😄

We are staying in Melb, though DD is in 3 day childcare, she has never been exposed to any other enrichments or lessons. Previously was quite bo chap but now i am abit concerned because it seems likely we will move back to SG before DD need to go to P1. Wondering if she will be able to cope?

Now am of two minds... to continue letting her develop in her own time plus doing some 'activities' at home (e.g. we only speak Mandarin at home so that she is conversant in the language plus teach her some skills like ABS, chinese words on an ad hoc basis) or really try to 'prepare' her by sending her to classes.

DD is end of year baby so i think there's quite a difference between DD and children born earlier in the year in terms of her 'skills', especially motor-wise. She is abit scared of bigger, more able kids in the playground so abit of the timid sort, dont like trying new things (e.g. physical type activities). However, language skills are her strength and she is very fluent in both English and Mandarin.

Feeling the stress now even though she is just 3 yrs 3 mths!

My little girl attends ballet at Crestar. She enjoys the lessons, and look forward to the class every week. She merged in quite easily and has already make a few good friends in the class.

You may want to let your girl do a trial class first, see how she interacts with the teacher and other children before you decide. All the best!

Hi! I saw all these DD1, DS2 codes etc and I do not understand them :? just wondering what they are.

Anyway, my first child is borned in October 2008. Does anyone has any recommendation for enrichment class in the upcoming school holidays?

                        Thanks!!! 😄
