Wow all PRs who bought within 1km of popular schools must be crying now. Didn't expect the govt to be so pro citizens suddenly. A very welcomed change

Between Ngee Ann and katong convent, which is a better school?

Both have their strengths. My cousin went to KC Pri. She loved it. She came out well-mannered and better in English than when she went in.

I really like Ngee Ann. It's a happy school which is child-centred. With the new principal, processes are tightening up and more focus seems to be put on the academics while maintaining the not-so-stressful culture as compared to, ahem, the super branded school two bus stops down. :evil:

What I like about NGAPS is that it doesn't load the child with homework, so parents have time to target their kids' weaknesses. Think about it: if your kid is busy trying to finish homework everyday, he's likely not going to have time to do extra work for his Chinese, for example, or play the piano. Also, there are lots of enrichment opportunities: chess, Neuromath, dance, etc.

I will say, however, that due to space constraints, the variety of CCAs isn't very great, but can do lah.

And as with all schools, there are good teachers and... the other type. It depends on the luck of the draw, ie. heng-suay. So, I think it is best to go with the school CULTURE you like the best. At least you know that this will not change too much. Hope this helps!

Good for neighborhood schools.

A popular branded school I know of proudly announced 100% a1 pass in chinese literature. Turned out only 5 students sat for this papers. Yes, you got it right, they were from you know which country.

So what’s going to happen to those PR which has done PV - they will be losing out in P2B this year registration. Already contribute but upside advantage is suddenly taken away after the 40 hrs PV. Hey, this announcement is like … ??? Mmmm… not at level playing field.
