Cedar Girls Secondary School

Honestly, I think we Cedarians are already well-behaved for our age. You don’t find the entire school at NEX Mall the moment school is dismissed. Also, we only have two breaks for about 8 hours of school, not even including CCA. That isn’t alot. If your son is so easily distracted, turn off his phone so he wouldn’t even see the messages coming in. I also feel the girl shouldn’t be called shameless, no one but herself have the rights to call her names.

You have a bad impression of Cedar now because of one isolated case makes me me feel that you are very narrow-minded. Cedar is a good school that nurtures her young girls into confident grown up women. Cedar wasn’t my choice school, but the fact I put it as my first choice (and i’m well eligible for the cut-off point) shows that I believe Cedar would nurture me to be someone who can contribute back greatly to society and someone of good values and bringing up besides helping me to excel academically.
I hope you won’t condemn Cedarians, and take your rude comments elsewhere.

Tried talking to the girl but she insist they are just normal friend. But to SMS him 1000+ messages a month is not normal. She even ask my son to change classes on sat to go to her school event to keep her company. Talk to her and even tell her my son got ADHD and is easily distracted with phone SMS in class also no use. If she listen to reason I don't have to air my frustration here.

So did your son do what the girl said? So your son don't want this girl to SMS him? You labelled her as shameless because you don't want her to connect with your son? So did your son listen to you and stop all connection with this girl? If not, clean up your house before blaming the other party.....you are a sad person, judging how you handle teenage matter like this....Also....having 2 break in a long day is considered too many? No need to eat?........btw, I'm a parent of a student in Cedar....so I'm not defending the school as a student......You put out a post bringing down the school just because you cannot settle your son issue? Could anyone recommend good maths home tutor? I tried sending my DD to tuition ctr, however cos Cedar’s maths topics comprises of Sec 1 and Sec 2 , therefore, I would prefer home tuition. Hopefully, someone could respond as I badly needed one urgently. thanks

Did your DD try looking up her math teachers in school? My DD does that. She makes appointments with her teachers for extra consultation after school when necessary.
My personal opinion is should be more independent at secondary school already. Where possible, try not to fall back on a private tutor. A certain degree of independent learning must be cultivated fr sec sch onwards.
Also, i find that DD has little time left for tuition after the long hours of sch and cca and homework. with tuition, i will see even less of her.

You are so lucky ! Your DD is so independent. My DD is not motivated and refused to look for teachers for help. To make matter worst, she does not like her Maths teacher so how to approach him! Actually, I m surprised that my DD does not have much homework and she has a lot of free time during the weekends. That's worry me. Aside from doing school homework, she does not do any assessment book , that is why I felt it is not enough.
Anyway, thanks for the advice.

that strange...my daughter has too much homework....most of the time in weekend will be spending on homework...and this is after she had managed to finish some during her break time...

Mine is in the 4 years track and she too has little homework. Like Bestmark, my dd has so much free time everyday that I see her playing with her hp and laptop. And it worries me too!

My DD is in upper sec now. i don’t remember her having much free time during Sec 1 and 2. Sometimes their homework has a longer deadline. My DD has the habit of trying to finish off her hw early instead of waiting till the last minute.

My DD in Sec 1 O level programme. She has a lot of homework and her weekends are usually spent doing homework too. Hardly has any time left for revision. Wonder why the difference? Or maybe my DD is slow in her work.

Hi Daranic

My dd is in sec 1 non IP .She is always on her laptop too but not doing homework. Even when she is doing online homework, she always secretly switch to facebook. Its driving me crazy. Anybody know how to block the facebook website. I can not be 24 hrs watching her. I have tried to block fb under security link but she still can access into fb. I also tried to block under parental control link but it can only block programs. I wanted to ban her from fb but she said sometimes her classmates will make annoucement on fb. I wanted confiscate her hp but she said the same things like her senior will text her if there is a need to inform her anything regarding cca. and I know what she had said is the truth cos I have read her sms before. Any parents having same problem as me!
