Im considering to move <1km to Kuo Chuan Or Anderson to register my boy this yr, gg P1 next yr.

I did some research & think these are the 2 schools that in 2C, at least my boy still stand a chance to go in.
KC so far no need balloting for those staying <1km, but not much condo projects to choose from. And its gg to move to AMK for the next 2 years.

Anderson wise, need to ballot even <1km, but the chance is there. With more condo projects choices <1km.

        Need advice here:
Which is a better choice? Anything to share about these 2 schools would be much apprecaited.
Also, for Kuo Chuan, when its in the temporary location (yr 2013 & 2014), will it compromise on its academic & CCA? Is the new location very far from the current school location. (Sorry, im not familiar with Bishan/ AMK as of now).

Any student care centres nearby Kuo Chuan / Anderson school? We are working parents, my boy would need to stay at student care centre till we come back from work.
        Thanks in advance!

          Dear Experience Parents

We’re staying in Bishan St.22 area, currently there are few schools in the neighbourhood, kindly advise us which school to enroll for our daughter born in year 2007 (this year will be 5 years old) and what should we prepare.

          Within 1km:
          1 Teck Ghee
          2 Townsville

          Within 1-2km:
          1 Ai Tong
          2 AMK Primary
          3 Guan Yang
          4 Jing Shan
          5 Kuo Chuan

We’re Catholic family, will we have a better chance to enter Catholic school but none within 2km? kindly advise.

With current MOE P1 registration new rule we as PR has very limited option, and we understand goverment move.
Your advise on which good school will give our daughter higher chance to enter is appreciated.

          Dear Moderator
I also posted the same query on AMK area; since we live in Bishan-AMK boundary.

          Thank you

You will have no chance at Ai Tong and Kuo Chuan. The rest you can try. Catholic schools, you can try Marymount Convent and CHIJ Our Lady of Good Counsel. These 2 are the nearest catholic girls' schools which likely will have vacancy for your girl at phase 2B. If you intend to register at this phase, you will need baptism certs.

You can monitor the registration statistics at a few schools this year when registration opens and then next year you can decide which schools you may like to try for.

            Good luck.

              Hi Jiangnan

For student care centre within the schools, Guangyang Primary school in Bishan has one for a few years already. It is within the school compound so it is safe for the children. Children are happy coz the school building is new, the facilities like the student care centre is conducive for the children too. Yes I agree working moms like us need help after school. Worth considering, go check it out. 🙂
