Child abduction at AMK Hub
-
I see authorities have stepped up in security at MRT station gantries. Does this apply to all the stations? Or is it only those that are linked to shopping malls?

Heard from my sis that her colleague’s nephew witnessed one of his P2 malay classmates got abducted into a van by a Chinese yesterday’s afternoon, on their way home from school in Tampines. Police report made but cant broadcast as not 24hrs yet. Till now the boy is not home yet.
Although I heard this from my own sis, I hope it is not true. -

Now I don't dare to bring my kids out! I wonder if schools have also stepped up on security measures and ensure that students do not step out of school until the parents come to pick them up..

what wld you do if your child is 7 and having lesson at tuition centre in a shopping mall wanting to go toilet urgently? Ever mentioned from the receptionists that the kids are old enough to go on their own, despite toilets are quite a route from the centre. Wld u stay a good 2 hr there waiting to bring him/her to the toilet if need to? I think I may now, since securities have not been stepped up.

Resident asked Baey Yam Keng: Was a Malay girl really KIDNAPPED in Tampines Street 22 ???
Posted by temasektimes on March 30, 2012
A Malay girl was reportedly KIDNAPPED in Tampines Street 22 a few days ago, prompting one concerned mother Kareen Ng to ask for assistance from her MP Baey Yam Keng on Facebook last night:
“Hello Mr Baey, I saw on fb post that there is a Malay gal being kidnap outside her ccc in Tampines st 22. Do u know if this is a true case? I m a mother of 2 baby boys, it’s really freaking me out after reading the post from fb.”

Mr Baey replied that he did not hear about the case:
“I have not heard about this. Is a police report being made? As in my comment below, if it is true or worse, there is such a syndicate operating in S’pore, the police has to take decisive action. I am quite sure the police is investigating these cases. In the meantime, we parents must continue to be careful and look after our children. And let’s look out for one another too.”
Ms Ng said she would try to contact the police for more information this morning.

i will. DS attended a holiday enrichment class in the CC last dec and the toilet is a distance away from the centre. in fact, it is next to a staircase which leads to the carpark and very accessible to the public. i brought along a book and sat in the reading room opp (which has a view of the route from the centre to the toilet) for 2 hours for the 5 mornings that he was there. call me kiasi, but better safe than sorry.
