Anyway the more you give, they will tend to spend it in the bookshop instead of eating :moneyflies:

          baby2momma:
oic....thought asking us to bring pencils, colour pencils and all are for them to do some sort of assessment....

It can also be natural assessment baby2momma. Like when the children are engaged in activities and play, the teachers may actually be observing and start to round up children in their groups. A friend's daughter in Kranji Primary said that during their P1 orientation, the children were asked to read and the teachers assess. The children were then grouped into reading ability. Not sure whether the fluent with the fluent, or the fluent readers were distributed to the different groups to help the relatively ok... quite some time back now. buds getting old so keep forgetting things. Paiseh. She added that the teachers gave the different children activities based on their ability. My friend thought that this was good.
          baby2momma:
anyway, thanks for helping new mothers like us clarify.... πŸ˜‰

i'm really quite excited about the orientation day anyway.....
seems more like me attending school instead of kiddo.... :rahrah:
          No worries, baby2momma. You're welcome! πŸ˜„

Yes, it IS really quite exciting being a part of another chapter in our children's lives. :hugs:
          baby2momma:
btw, on average how much should we give kiddo for daily
pocket money?? does the orientation include bringing parents for a tour
to the canteen to check out selling price of food items???
i still can't figure out how much to give sonny.... :?
After we sat down to eat with our kiddies after orientation day was over, we then decided the amount to give DD. We start her out with $1.00 in small change ... ie ( 50c, 20c, 20c and 10c) and a compusory emergency money of 20c. So that's $1.20. The emergency money can be used for calling-mummy money. 10c too short a conversation for 1st timers. Hehee.. Once they finally come to the point, the phone credit is finished. I showed DD how to use the school's public phone, in case she needs to reach me for anything (esp when they're already having CCA, cos sometimes cancel/finish earlier, then she can call me), or if she misses me and wants to hear my voice ( i suppose it's calming ) and also in emergency cases ( if she gets bullied (etc) in school, need to go dentist cause her tooth broke ... (etc... etc) and other stuff like that lar. But then again, this is only what i did for mine lor. πŸ˜‰ Different parents will offer different guidelines for their kiddies. The above are just my sharings. Hope it helps somehow..

good idea about the 'emergency' money
thingy.....in case the kid is feeling kinda

For the \"big day\" orientation can both parents attend ? Thinking of getting hubby or maid to come along. :?:
