Yes, I did initial on the diary book for the first few weeks and stop after that. No one is checking if you initial not. But you need to make sure your kid did copy down, else it defeats the purpose. πŸ˜‰

My son said that the team leader, not the teacher, will check the parents' initials.

[quote=\"maywong\"]Can I ask, how does parents know what homework is given to the kids in P1?

Will there be communication book like childcare?
Or teacher will ask them to write down in diary?

My son's teacher asks the students to write the homework in their diary and parents have to initial in the diary on a daily basis to denote we have taken note of the homework.

Nan Hua primary Not affliated to her Secondary.

you can't enter under phase 2A alumni.

              http://app.sis.moe.gov.sg/schinfo/SIS_SearchDtls.asp?strCode=5622

For Nan Hua primary students going to Nan Hua High also not affiliated, no \"discount\" of PSLE score. But Since NH high is SAP, most Nan Hua primary students would have 1(pass),2(merit), or 3(distinction) points to add to PSLE score for their higher Chinese.
              πŸ˜„

              Thanks for the advice. πŸ™‚

                  Dear NH Parents,

                  Hope you can help.
There is a section on Mental sum in Math curriculum. May I know whether the child need to know some basic mental calculation to cope with such subject? Do I need to send my child to any form of abacus or kumon training to deal with such? Will my child be disadvantage if my child has no such training? Are many children attending abacus or some form of mental calculation training? Thank you.

My child did not attend any math enrichment. All I did was some + & - for him to do on weekend. He has no problem with math. He is in p3 this year.

At p1, the school arranged a model drawing workshop for parents to attend. I think it was helpful. I learn a lot from the workshop.

Hi, my girl did not go for any abacus class or even any enrichment on Maths. I think the mental sum questions are quite easy, up to their current level, not advanced like abacus, so not to worry too much.
