mamemo:
....So isn't this a more urgent and pressing need instead of P1 registration? So what if the alumni is capped, then your child manage to get into the top school ? You are subjecting your child to even more stress with more tuitions!

On a side note, I hope that MOE makes the right policies, instead of the popular policies. We'll be in deep trouble if the government just follows what the majority says without studying the statistics, cause-and-effects of policies.
Welcome to the thread. 😄

Well.... the fact that we are here on this very topic doesn't mean we think there arn't any other more urgent and pressing needs......perhaps someone can start a new thread on those urgent needs.......

As far as I know, many here \"argued\" for what they think is common good. They are not suggesting for a cap to 2A so that their child could get into the \"top school\" so whether whose child goes tution or get any stressed more should not be too much of a concern. On the same line of reasoning, does that mean that you are, at the same time, discouraging alumni from \"top schools\" to enrol their child into their alma mater owing to the threat of more tution and stress?

Like you, I also hope that MOE makes the right policies by constantly reviewing it to make it relevant in response to the ever changing landscape. If a policy gives too much privilege to a certain group, there better be a very good reason. Besides the \"under privileged\", I hope someone could raise another example whereby our national policy gives extended privilege to a certain group of people. If there is any, it will be worth another thread. If there isn't any, I don't see why our educational policy should be granted the exception to enjoy such.

No harm, this is a good forum for us to air our friendly opinions and a constant relentless reminder for the authority to review the system.

😉
Hi Chief,

This thread is not going anywhere...it's advisable to close case.
MOE has already made the move to give priority to Singaporeans and even that can stir up issues with comments like 'PURE' Singaporeans and converted ones. It's not healthy.

I second that! :celebrate:

Please close this thread. Also the other thread on about SC vs PR. I hate that thread. It just looks ugly.

Peace. :xedfingers:

I third it!! :)
You have a fourth! :please:

Heh forumers,

How many reminders do we need that no personal attack and name calling? Remember what Mod said.......

tankee:
Mod's Note

Please focus the discussion, debate, etc on the topic and comments, but not at each other. Do not get personal.

There will alway be differences in opinion. Please accept that and agree to disagree.

IMHO, I agree and support \"alumni\" be accorded some \"privilege\" but it should be capped, or shared evenly with 2B and 2C and not be given in an \"unlimited\" manner. Just friendly share share my opinion. I do not mind if anyone disagrees so let's discuss peacefully. 😉

Do you mind sharing with us what is at stake for you, dorisp? Or nothing at stake for you at all also can declare so we know what is the driving force behind your posts. Of course it is also your right to totally ignore my question... 🤷

:offtopic:

I make a funny \"Popiah\" analogy. Please bear with me.

uDad: Why Sg-BestMakan.com Editor declare Popiah-A is “Popiah of the Decade\"? Even better than Popiah-B?
I think Popiah B should be “Popiah of the Decade\".

Me: Sg-BestMakan.com has 131 pages of forum opinions on that.
Maybe you can go through them and consolidate the opinions on why Popiah-B is better. Share with all. Thank you in advance.
BTW, I like Popiah-A more than B.

uDad: I have been participating in all of the 131 pages in Sg-BestMakan.com. In the forum, I said I want reason on why Sg-BestMakan.com Editor declare Popiah-A is “Popiah of the Decade\", and not Popiah-B.
I don’t agree Popiah A is better.

Me: If you think the 131 pages of opinions on Popiah A may be one-sided … Then, contact Sg-BestMakan.com or their Editor for their official Unbiased stand on this - Popiah-A is “Popiah of the Decade’? Please share with forum.

uDad: Hey! Do not pretend to act smart and try to brush off my question.
IF YOU DO NOT HAVE ANY SOLID REASON WHY POPIAH-B IS SUPERIOR, ITS BETTER TO JUST KEEP MUM!.
Maybe I detest HYPOCRITES ….

Me: But I merely making a suggestion on where/how to get answer to your question…. Why am I accused of being a hypocrite?

uDad: You have wrongly accused me of not reading the opinions! Not only did you not apologise for your mistake, you conveniently ignore it!
How dare you throw the ball back to my court … An admission of your guilt ??

Me: What ball? I catch no ball … guilty of what exactly? Making suggestions?

uDad: I'm not seeking any answer per se on Popiah-B being better.....

Me: But you just said you want “solid reason for Popiah-B or keep mum”…. Change your mind?

uDad: I'm more interested in facilitating discussion and creating awareness so that more people will talk about it.

Me: I’m confused. Change mind or additional expectation?
So you don’t want solid reason why Popiah-B is better?
Or you want facilitate discussion and awareness about SOLID reasons for Popiah-B only?

uDad: In fact, I did feedback to Sg-BestMakan.com and their website feedback unit. But I did not request for the answer why Popiah-A better. To me, its not an issue of right or wrong `answer', Sg-BestMakan.com team just need to review the current popiah scheme based on current situation and sentiments.

Me: So change again? Now you DON\"T WANT to know why Popiah-A is “Popiah of the Decade’ and Popiah-B is not? Then why you demanded for a reason right at the beginning?
Like I said, If Sg-BestMakan.com reply to you... please share with forum.

uDad: Often times, it’s the people who knows something is not right who then wants to keep things under wrap and hush hush.

Me: With 131 (now 137) pages of Popiah opinions open to the billions on the net, how to keep things under warp & hush-hush?

Ladies and Gentleman, it’s really amazing how ridiculous things has turned out.
You judge for yourself if you want to talk to uDad about Popiah anymore.
:slapshead: :slapshead: :rotflmao: :rotflmao: :rotflmao:
Errrr.. I think you are the one who is changing your mind (at least in this Popiah analogy).. First, you started off liking Popiah A, then somewhere in the middle, you seem to have switched your liking to
Popiah B.. and somewhere at the end, you changed your liking back to Popiah A again.. :scratchhead:
Must be the effects of consuming too much Popiahs, with Tiger... :siam:
