Just coming back from SNEC. DD1 don’t need to wear spectacles. Doctor said eyesight quite ok with very minor degree of power. So let it be as such. Just need to go for review 6 months later fo follow up

Yes agree with you. My daughter also has the habit of reading while lying down, or bend too much to keep the book near etc.. She basically loves to read books. She needs to read a book before she can fall asleep :?

Need to monitor and check her reading posture.. Keep the book at least 30cm away..

Also will try to improve on the outdoor activities.. 6 months to go.. Hope DD can learn good eye care habits.. 🙏 :xedfingers:

All the best to your child too.. :rahrah:

Good to hear that your DD does not need to wear spectacles.

But pay extra attention to monitor her reading habits, TV watching time etc...

Ask her to have more outdoor activities.

Thanks HAPPYH. Agree with you about monitoring tv time. Already informed DD that I will remove the TV set-up box card every morning.. So that she cannot watch cartoons the minute she wakes up.. Will ask her to play with little brother instead. Will try to let her play few times a week at park

Good thing that she has swimming and taekwondo lessons each week.. So that she can just relax..

Friday evenings are study free for her as such.. No home assignments or homework doing.. Just let her play n relax

Let's see how it goes.. Diet is important too.. My dd is picky eater. Hates veggies.. But now told her to watch her diet otherwise eyesight will be weak..

              Let's try our best... 🙂

My DD is also a picky eater and does not like veggies. Now I am forcing her to eat and she followed my instruction for few weeks as she is scared. But now she is trying to avoid veggies again. No choice, we should try our best to give them a balanced diet.

                    Hi all

Should read up some tips from the specialist at SNEC.

I saw this site with some previously answered q&a b the doc andfoudnthem useful.

                    Have a look:

                    http://www.healthxchange.com.sg/forums/Pages/CommonChildhoodEyeConditions-DoctorQuestionsandAnswer-HealthXchange-Singapore.aspx

Thers more info around the rest of the site as well, but too lazy to link up here. So, do have a browse yourselves. That's how I found out about the good docs....

                    Hope it helps!
