NYPS - The overal GEP TOP performer each year comes for each level comes from this school. [quote=\"2centsworthy\"]
As far as I know, from information divulged by GEP teachers, this is definitely not true. The school which produces the top performer for each year/level varies from year to year. Perhaps many but certainly, not all hail from NYPS.
Whatever it is, these kids are all very bright and it is not really important whether one is at the top or bottom of the top 1%. Making it to the top 1% is already a very remarkable feat in itself.
:congrats: to all successful P3 GEP pupils and their parents !!!

I am wondering is there a need for the younger sibling to follow to GEP school, especially if the 'old' school is nearer to home?
What are the advantages of being in the same GEP school? Thanks for sharing your thoughts

Problem is the younger feels left out... my daughter already making noise..I am wondering is there a need for the younger sibling to follow to GEP school, especially if the 'old' school is nearer to home?

Also, from earlier explanation given, seems like those who passed the first round but never make it to 2nd round (top 5% in Singapore), will still be 'guided' accordingly in those GEP schools... compare to those 'non-GEP' school... -

Yup... agree.. they won't indicate in the report books on what are their ranking... in the GEP, all students are specials.. nobody better or worse...Whatever it is, these kids are all very bright and it is not really important whether one is at the top or bottom of the top 1%. Making it to the top 1% is already a very remarkable feat in itself.

I saw another parent quoting that if in GEP school and ifthe kid dont have chance to got GEP (after writing 2nd round exam) those students will get to learn something same as GEP students. This is only in GEP schools

Actually, a lot of non-GEP schools will round up those who passed the 1st selection test but didn't make the 2nd selection and put them in a special class (that mirrors GEP). For example, ACS Jr has the Thoburn class, MGS has the Sophia Blackmore class and many other schools also have something similar. -

Hi TwaTau, can I check with you. Is there any orientation for GEP student who goes in to HP? & when will we know that which school he'll be posted to? Will be going for holiday in early Dec.. not sure if it'll clash with the orientation if there's any. Not sure if i'll get chance to check with the HP's rep. Am afraid might be swamp with parents...
You will have time to talk to the schools, if you skip the refreshment,
Can't remember exactly when we get the posting, but I am quite sure there is a 100% chance of getting into HPPS, unless there is a sudden interest of HPPS this year. You might want to check with the HPPS booth on the briefing day about the orientation as well, memory not so good liao! In case it crash with your vacation, you can request at the briefing to do a school visit, and I remember the visit to the school was quite close to the briefing. If you miss the orientation, at least your child can see the school first.

Now I know why some parents prefer to send their child to 'branded' school... cause at least they have 'extra' included for the child..
