All About Life Without Maids

I remembered someone mentioned about dishwasher before…
Anyway have good reviews and recommendations for it? Kitchen is already quite small, thinking if a countertop one is good and capacity big enough.
I cook daily and there is quite a pile of dishes to do after dinner every nite. I am thinking of getting a dishwasher so that i can have more time to coach my kids in their studies. -
Me too, I’ve been talking about it since forever but never got on to it. Now that the electrical tariff gone up, I’m hesitating even more but still, thinking of it.

I’ve also been lusting after dishwasher…haha… I saw this tiny one when I went to Japan… By Panasonic. It was not much bigger than a toaster oven… Canonly take4 sets of crockery and cutlery though. Unfortunately, they haven’t got it here…

I am also thinking of dishwasher but the installation is a headache as it need a water outlet point ... Too much trouble to install

Hi Shoe,
I hv a Bosch countertop dishwasher, its slightly bigger than a microwave. I think Bosch is the only countertop avail in Singapore. Its for 6 placings and very useful as I dislike washing dishes. It frees a lot of time.
I am sure you will find it useful too. -
Have been maidless since Dec 2011, and what a change it has been!
1. Don’t work overtime! This was hardest to adjust and explain to the Boss. Personally sending & picking up the son from childcare helps build bond. During these moments, its just us 2 talking to each other.
2. No more cooking! TaPao almost all meals. I hope our hair will not drop off soon.
3. Do house chores! Most chores can be done when son has slept. Buying a 8kg washer and a 8kg dryer helps a lot …
4. Get son to do house chores! This is the best change and even now when I see him help wipe the picture frames, tables, cupboards, sofas … I get this big smile that is priceless! -

can put in pots and all right ? my aunt is using dishwasher, she said not everything can go in -
Hi Micollh,
Yes my dishwasher is the 1/2 size model, cant wash big pots.
If you want to wash pots then you hv to get the full size model that has 2 layers of tray. Use 1 tray for dishes and 1 tray for pots.
For me, dishwasher is very useful.
Roomba can only vacuum, Scooba can mop.
