I agree; our library has good selection of books, both English and Chinese. Make full use of it! My kids also like 张君伟一年级 but I have to read to them. They are not reading on their own. Anyway, I don't mind.

Yr children must be still quite young. The 张君伟p1 and p2 books have han Yu pin yin. I think suitable for end p1 and p2 or even p3 kids.

Just to share with everyone some of the chinese storybooks I have borrowed from the lib:


1.君伟上小学(p4 and P5);
2.皮皮鲁总动员series. ( 2 books ).
Have read these 2 series. Interesting Chinese story book.
3.小猫日记- 绿狗山庄- Read a few pages. I found it tough.

Also borrowed 2 books by 伍美珍。Have not read them.

Look like there are a lot more interesting chinese books in the library now.
Do borrow them

Look for junweishangxiaoxue. The second book, is also very interesting suitable for p2 students

U can get them at popular. I last bought them last month at bishan popular. It is one of their Chinese discount books, got discount now.

I feel that 笑猫日记系列 seems more suitable for girl.

青菜萝卜，各有所爱! Perhaps you could continuous to source for other books that your DS may like it.

Important thing is once they like it; we must 趁热打铁 and get in the rest of the books a.s.a.p.
