J1J2boys:
:imcool: :imcool: Hi, I am staying within 1 km to Nan Chiau Primary, with the new priority ruling for S'pore citizens, I am not sure if I should try to go for this ever popular school or just keep it simple and go to my hubby old boys schools, any comments or advices ?
usual practice is to apply to old school under 2A1/2. Then monitor and decide on the last day of registration for Phase 2C. if you are under 2B, I think chances will be very high. else, I think still the same (aka nail biting). Come to the end, it's whether you want to take the risk -

one nagging questions :
do they teach the kids to speak hokkien in those schools ?
is a pity if they don’t -
verykiasu2010:
 Maybe kids who wish to register at these school must know how to speak Hokkien as a pre-entry requirement...the kids must be able to read a passage in Hokkien, or sing a Hokkien song during the interview...then very soon, many kids in Singapore are proficient in Hokkien...one nagging questions :

Actually i dun mind these schools offer Hokkien classes. My kids know nuts about Hokkien since their own grandparents dun speak Hokkien to them.

Newbie here. Didn't see a reply to this qn. Can someone advise pls? Also, I just joined the clan earlier this year, what do you reckon my chances at kong hwa for next year's registration pls? Any idea? And if there's chance, what more should I do as a member to increase my chances of the recommendation letter? Appreciate your feedback.Hi,
To those who have successfully applied to the school via Phase 2B using the SHHK membership, does the # of years count? I have joined SHHK coming to 3 years but i am not a very active member as in i only attend 3-4 events per year. Does that give me lesser chance? appreciate your reply. Thanks -
We sucessfully got in to SHHK school 3 years ago through phase 2b. We didnt join any of the SHHK events before and still got recommended. I dont think it matters whether you are an active member.
