      Hi,

I’m disapointed with the limited choice for p1-p3 after school elective programs. Given only 4 options; guzheng, violin, story-telling and ballet to choose from. Others like chess, guitar, dance etc are only for P3 onwards.

Any parents with their child enrolled in any of these programs? Kindly share your experiences. thks .

        Hi,

I am surprise to know they only provide for the arts..what about sports?

Anyway, compare to Teck Ghee, which school is better?

Had gone for the Parents Teacher Meeting with my child over the weekend. Teachers were helpful in providing their views and observations of my child in school. The feedback was provided to help parents understand the child behaviour in school as well as for parents to provide feedback of child while at home. The exchange helps to understand the child much better for both parties.

As my child was doing ‘ok’. There wasn’t much complains. But minor points to take note of his carelessness in Math. And feedback from Mother Tongue on ways to help improve his chinese.

Was also being told of the up coming challengers the child will be facing in Term 2. So as to get everyone prepared mentally.

My child will be having Story Telling class tomorrow. It’s a 6 lesson course for them to enrich themselves after sch. As there wasn’t much choice to choose from, i guess this course might be interesting for my kid. Fees payable $60. 2 hrs ea session.

Helps to develop public speaking skills. Overcome and build confidence.

Another issue i would like to highlight about the PE attire. The blue shorts has only ONE pocket at the back. It fits a wallet. There’s no other pockets for tissue paper or handkerchief. So my child practically uses the sleeves to clean off sweats…sigh.

My kid just completed his final paper in P2. Looking forward to the holidays. Had also received my kid’s test papers for parent acknowledgement. I can’t help wondering, what are the difficulty levels for these Mayflower test papers as compare to other schools? Moderate and substantial? or Easy and lack challenge?

The school has this Home learning base program whereby kids do their homework on computer and submit online.

Take note, during holidays, kids tend to put on weight. The uniform will "somehow" seem very tight when school re-opens. Ha…

Was hoping the school to conduct some additional activities during the holidays to enrich their own students. Only to find a leaflet of enrichment courses conducted by Punggol CC given to him by the school. Haiz…

So it’s up to the parents to schedule for their kids. Otherwise it will be a TV, Eat and Sleep routine !

                    Hi All parent,

Its nice reading this forum and getting your feedback.

Its my turn now to chose which primary school to choose for my child. I heard a lot of plus points for this school. But i like to hear the negative point as well so as to be better prepared.

Except the stairs, any other negative points to share?

I will also enrol my child in the after school care centre in Pro-teach, anybody have anything to share about this centre? Or any other better centre?

                      Hi there!

I understand there is no in-house after school care at Mayflower PS. Does anyone know where is the nearest after school care centre?

As both of us (parents) are working, I wonder if it is possible to have someone from the centre to bring the child from school to the centre aftre school?

                      Thanks!

                      ANDY

                        Hi all,

This forum seem to be very quiet compared to the super active Teck Ghee primary forum. I am keen to find out more about these 2 schools.
Anyone care to share the main differences in these 2 schools when they were researching for P1 reg for their DD or DS?

Hi Patricklim80, did you manage to get more information? if so, care to share:)

                        Many thanks!
