YJL:
I've not seen those before, but I normally do them with detailed explanations for my students' use. Would be great if there are ready ones, then I only need to check & add onOther than those test papers that comes with an answer sheet. Where can i get those that provides workings & details deriving to the answers (Math)?
TIA!

Hi Raysusan,
I’m not sure if I’m answering your qn. During one of the school’s briefings, the principal explained that for PSLE 2010, Science at foundation level is not an examinable subject. So only 3 subjects (Eng, Maths & MT) will be counted and MOE will have their formula to calculate the aggregate. 4 subjects are for those taking standard level Science and 5 subjects include HMT. -
There will also be cases whereby some students are exempted from MT, so their PSLE score is based on the remaining 3 subjects. I suppose in such cases, the students' performance will not be affected by the cohort's MT performance. And the advantage will be more time to study for other subjects

The latest edition of PopClub magazine will be out from 13-Nov, this Friday.
I supposed the 20% discount off assessment books will kick in this weekend.
Just a FYI. -

You're right,my friend's kids are exempted from MT,so just need to concentrate on 3 subjects -

Students who do not have MT at S3 are not offered additional subjects due to timetabling issues. Unless they take lessons outside school as private candidates OR their school is willing to accomodate special requests (hardly possible).
Which means their peers might be doing 8 subjects but they'll have 7 subjects. To some, it's an advantage, but to others, it may be a disadvantage because cant take HMT & get 2 bonus points shaved off the L1R5.
There's pros & cons. Weigh out carefully before proceeding

Are students allow to use algebra in PSLE Maths?
-
so what is the different between kids than score eg… 250 on 4 ,5 and 3 subjects respectively?
are they given the same credit base on marks? -

Are you sure that students exempted from mother tongue will have their PSLE score calculated only on remaining 3 subjects? I have friends whose kids are exempted from MT and MOE has refused to comment on how their PSLE aggregates will be calculated. -

Yes.
