can parents kindly share ... how to advise P5/ p6 kids, Secondary school to poly / JC teenagers nowadays (both sons and daughters) to keep their body chaste, till they get married one day ? and how not to get influenced by classmates who boast their \"sleeping\" experience ?

after this incident, this is a very important topic for Parenting Teenagers. Thank you for sharing.

          Chenonceau:
Let's not quibble about my being overly sympathetic or not. You seriously want me to write to the level of PERFECT BALANCE like this were my thesis? Plenty were baying for her blood already. I just wanted to introduce a notion NO ONE has put forth yet, and I am accused of being imbalanced in sympathy.

Some kindness would become us, no?
I dont think Chen is being overly sympathetic.

Yes the age 18 is a number. Do all attain mental maturity at that age? - no, I even know adults in their 30s who are so immature., and teens who are far more astute and mature.
But the fact in most countries this is taken to be the age when one can be assumed to have reasonable amount of maturity.
Below that age, the benefit of doubt should be given to the child.
The point is if the court feels that she was matured enough to have thought this thru and did it with her eyes open,
then actually it is stating that she is not underaged. So the whole case closed. For prostitution is legally allowed.

Why she did it, does she deserve our sympathy , does she deserve our contempt , thats beside the point.

          On the other end
Did any of the men think thru to the end - no?
Yes they might have been told the girl was 18 or above. A 16 year old might look like an 18 year old , but Did they truly not suspect?
did they not have a doubt niggling their head ?
Wisdom tells me they probably did but thought that it really didnt matter
          - after all this was hush hush set up and not a case of them intentionally misleading an underaged.
It just boils down to the fact that they thought they would not be caught.

That is precisely why the onus is on the man to find out , because its just too easy to close one eye

i think now depends on how the famous Indian lawyer Suba going to fight the legal case in Subordinate court against Prosecutor, as he'll represent some of his 48 clients, who do NOT plead guilty.

did they announce which date ?
think the court room will be packed to the brim with curious onlookers, reporters, journalists, high profile people.

The law is there to protect the young from exploitation.

Until more details about the girl surfaces, I will lean on the side of her being gullible and making the wrong decisions and not knowing how to get out of this viscious cycle. I do not want to think that young girls, can, without any influence, decide to go into this trade.

None of us with DDs will want to think that our kids will objectively make the decision to sell their bodies. And if any of our kids fall on the wayside, do we not want them to be given the chance the get back on the right path without strangers condemning and crucifying them?

So much talk about feeling sorry for the families. If we truly feel sorry for the families of these men and this girl, then maybe we should reflect on how we are so intent on naming and shaming those involved.

If she were ABOVE 18, and she prostituted herself, she is doing something perfectly legal. If news broke that all 80 men were involved with an 18 year old prostitute, their careers and families would also be destroyed, no? But in that case, she would be breaking no law at all because prostitution in Singapore is legal.

The law was broken because she was 17 at the time. Because this is the law, and she was 17, she should be punished?

Why should a 17 year old girl be punished when an 19 year old wouldn't be? Why should a CHILD be punished when an ADULT would not be?

So... push the logic further... 19 or 20 or 25 or 35 or 60 year old prostitutes who destroy families should be made illegal too? Of course it is desirable but many societies have seen this to be impractical. Push it further... 2 Home Team Officers have their careers and families destroyed because they had EMA with a sales girl. That should be made illegal too because the girl gets away scot free?

Why should a 17 year old be called to give her pound's flesh in court when grown women like me wouldn't be?

                  Just to share…

“People are often unreasonable and self-centered. Forgive them anyway.
If you are kind, people may accuse you of ulterior motives. Be kind anyway.
If you are honest, people may cheat you. Be honest anyway.
If you find happiness, people may be jealous. Be happy anyway.
The good you do today may be forgotten tomorrow. Do good anyway.
Give the world the best you have and it may never be enough. Give your best anyway.
For you see, in the end, it is between you and God. It was never between you and them anyway.”

                    buds:
While these real victims (the wives) stand by their man n slowly relearn how to rebuild their family, they need lots of emotional support. We girls will cry and rant together with her anytime she needs us... Without sound support system, she may crumble and forget she can still live a fulfilling life (with change) for herself and children.

                    .
My heart goes to the the families of the men especially the wife - how shattering it must be.

Even the men have to face the fact that they have betrayed their wife, they have caused so much humiliation to their loved ones, they have their life shattered - and they have only themselves to blame. It takes great strength to rebuild from there . I am not sure many can make it thru.

That is why I do admire the grith of the ex-principal. To fall and then pick onself is a great task...
                    buds:

As long as men use wrong heads each time they are supposedly \"stressed\" *roll eyes* or \"feels challenged\" or even \"undermined\"... they go into escapism. Seeking pleasures with no strings attached. They CAN still put a stand that it never meant that they don't love their spouses.
                    .
                    Yeah men! :nunchuk: 🙏
Nothing is more relaxing than man-bashing !
As DH says, one man has to err and the whole gang of women bash all the men in the world !

Its a girl thing I guess, it helps us stay sane 😆
