All About Full-Time Maids

my previous maids and those for my parents/sister all from nation.


we use the simei and bukit timah branch (but unsure if the bukit timah branch is still there or moved). all completed contract and most stayed for more than 3 years.

i wanted to get a maid from them again recently but was a bit disappointed by those i saw on the website. i dont know if thats all they have (which i am sure they have more) but the reply was what i see on web is what they have.

so i didnt get any from them.

Also agree, start to be strict frm the start. I m normally nice to them when they start but am only strict when they get out of hand. I took this transfered maid and like i mentioned earlier she was rather good with her work when she started, hardworking clean and neat, rather fast too. Shes 37 yrs old and fresh frm th province when she came and had 4 yrs experience as a maid in phillippines. Shes not been a month n sneeks out of the hse to meet another maid when my mum takes her bath. Shes suppose to help my mum out of the bathroom, what a dissappointing maid, shes older so kind of stubborn too and does not like ironing so does it at her own time. She look the serious kind but I hv my doubts and the trust is not there if i leave her alone at home.

Hi 2 mths ago return my maid to agent told to have insurance refund…would like to check why when I got a trf maid, the insurance cost could be trf to the new maid n if I do not con’t getting a maid from the agent tey told me no refund for insurance is there any time /date line that the insurance fee could be refunded…pls advice thanks.

From what I know, Insurance is neither refundable nor transferable. If you are transferring your maid, you need to get a fresh insurance done for her. This was what I was told when I sent my maid off.

Try NTUC Income, it provides a refund based on some conditions,…something better than nothing!

depends on the insurance you buy, some offer refund if cancelled within 1 mth, 3 mths and 6 mths..i cant remember the insurance company which as used by home maid agency. ntuc i think dun have right?

The last time when I trf d maid n got a new maid d agency said can trf d ins $ to d new maid cos its less than 3 mths. Thus got d impression can get part of it back since I paid 300+…shd at least got back 100+…

i was talking to a maid who said that there are many illegal indo maids in spore. some are at agencies looking for employment.


i asked this maid how can that be cos if they are offered a job, mom would definitely know of their illegal status and they would be sent home.

but was told that the agencies have their own way of sorting it out before submitting the documents to mom.

too bad i dont have any friends who works in maid agencies. dont know if this is true or not.

i guess maids who are at the maid agencies daily have an idea of what's happening. also sometimes they chat among themselves and secrets are revealed.
