does RGPS offer guided tour/open hse?

dd was initially very fixated on RGPS GEP and I hv read lots of positive comments abt the sch. however, we stay in the north and Rosyth seems to be nearer. personally, I'd rather opt for the nearest possible sch.

tdy dd's 'fixation' on RGPS has wavered (heh heh yes, the manga course at Rosyth is too attractive). we will prob put RGPS and rosyth as our 2 choices (can don't put 4 choices ?). not confirm which will be our first choice though cos I have not seen RGPS ... literally.
I'm sure it offers guided tour for prospective GEP students. Check your handouts from last night or call the school directly.

Kind of worried..... I only put 1 choice for the paper, ACS (pri). What happens if u dont have place at the one school that u choose? Kindly advise! :?: :?

Last year, my friend put ACS only. Got sent to NYPS instead. This is also near her home as she stays in Bt Timah. She and her kid has no regrets.

Hi, Does anyone know about BiCEP selection at Tao Nan? What is specifically tested? Any feedback on the program? Thanks.

Last night I tried to find out more also. They said likely to have an interview to find out the interest from the child him/herself. They will not look at the P3 CL or HCL results. So, just go ahead and try. Hock Kien Huay kuan subsides the activities. All those who got in will be given once a week training on Chinese Speech, very good I think.

Actually all school will have prize-giving day which give out trophies for the top 3 in class, top 10 in level and top in subject... at least that's what I know from my kids school and my sister's kids school...
I heard of school, eg Gong Shang, give award to top 10%... If I am not wrong, Gong Shang is under Hock Kian Huay Kuan also.

i didn't hear leh, maybe I was dreaming.

looks like can only drive by and take a look.

I am just curious. For those kids who made it to GEP? Do they usually top their class in P1 and P2??? Or kids who don’t actually top the class can also make it due to their "hidden talents" that parents ain’t aware of???

The talk last night and meeting the teachers were great for us. My kid now open somewhat to the idea of the program and I'm glad we brought him there for the session.

We spent our time mainly in HPPS as that's our option, given we don't wanna enroll our kid to SAP with NYPS and NHPS the other 2 nearest to our place. I know i know... Mrs Heng already mentioned chinese being chinese, and no lower or higher... just chinese. 😛 But we would like our son to have time to appreciate the change and avoid too many changes in his life if possilbe... moreover, meeting the teachers there further convinced us HPPS is our only choice.

HPPS got a tour tmr morning at 8am... we look forward to it and now all depends on my son whether he like the school... if yes, we will sign up... our only option on the form. 😄

Was NYPS his 2nd choice? What if it is not one of your choice? They may not give you consideration and may post him to HP or NH whichever has vacancies.

If it would help any parents deciding on the schools, just some information on the number of vacancies left at ACS Primary.

There are 19 boys from ACS Junior and 11 boys from ACS Primary who got selected. That would leave only 20 places for other boys from other schools. Based on previous years take-up pattern, all the ACS boys will opt to remain in ACS. Even if you live in the east and are keen to send your boy to ACS, it shouldn't be a problem because there was a boy from Poi Ching in Tampines who chose ACS and was successful last year.
Not really if you see there is one early msg from a parent katong child didnt get . so probably not only location other crieteria's factors in
