Hihi thks for all your inputs.

$200 is PER MONTH for one way, two way is incremental of $250.
I am staying at upper thomson, not very far from Halifax.
not sure if the bus company is taking advantage that Pat's is somewhat a premier school and therefore the clients shouls be able to pay!
Anyway, like many of you, i cannot guarantee that i can knock off at 6pm sharp and be able to fetch my kids by 6.30pm.
so that's why got to resort to school bus....
sigh, very high cost!

I gather you'll be putting your kid at No. 9 ? The 6.30pm time is just a guide, I don't think they strictly implement it. The norm is usually 7pm.

I normally pick up my son ard 7pm...of coz he is usually one of the last to leave...

and I have to dedicate myself (read: opportunity cost) to promptly leave office by 6.30pm everyday
Not a confirmed plan yet, as I've not talked to my mum about it yet. Ever since my dad passed on, my mum seldom cooks as my brother buys dinner back. So it will be kinda troublesome for her to cook just for my girl. Also not keen to impose on her as she's already 73.

So how have you been coping with your boy's dinner this week ?

Normally, he's a junk kid. We pick him up after work, go ta-bao dinner, and try to give him some. Even on weekends, we normally eat out...so as and when we can, we find fish porridge for him...else, it would be the usual fried rice blah blah... 😞

We're not much better, we order tingkat dinner, so now she's sharing dinner with us. 😉
Yah, was tingkating for a few months...maybe close to a year...until we can't tahan the \"smell\" anymore. 😐

Hi!

I need some advise on Pat's schoolhouse for the following location:

1) Lim Ah Pin Road (Serangoon)
2) Meyer Road (Katong)
3) Jln Ulu Siglap

Thinking of putting my son in one of the above next year. Any information and feed back is greatly appreciated.
😄

I would suggest that you go down personnally look at the centre, talk to the principal, the teachers (if possible) etc. You should be able to get a good feel of what you want.

Hi joycemyl

Any comments after your visit to the ctr?

Went to Pat located at Halifax yesterday, the experience at the school is pleasant but distance wise it may be a hassle on the transportation.

Appreciate if you can share on your visit to Meyer and Siglap schools.

Hi

Anyone have experiences with PAT schoolhouse? Anyone got children from there?

1. Are they really very good as in your children learn a lot of knowledge and prepare well to handle worksheets or curriculum in P1 (in top Primary schools)?

2. I am looking at the ones at Halifax and Claymore. Chinese teachers at Halifax look patient and experienced but English ones looks bored.
I prefer the English teachers at Claymore as they looks more cheerful when teaching.

3. Are your children good in languages in terms of articulating their thoughts?

4. Actually My new place is very near to the new branch at Jubilee Park…just a stone’s throw away but i am quite reserved about the experiences of the teachers there as PAT just bought over them about 1 year ago. So, the teachers were all from the previous childcare which had only being operation for 1 year then PAT took over…

1 friend told me Halifax is the best cos it has very experienced teachers.

5. Do you think your money is well spent?

6.I am thinking full day arrangement but my friend said most of them are in half day.

7. Do you still have to supplement with enrichments(In academic subjects) in order for your child to prepare well for P1?

8. Do they learn thru fun like doing crafts, exploratory activitives…and etc? Do they also pick up life skills?

Appreciate anyone’s comments.

1. Can't answer this yet since my boy is only 3.5 yrs old. But, I think he has learned a lot at school.

2. I'm very happy with my son's English and Chinese teachers at Halifax.

3. He is better in using English in articulating.

4. Not sure abt that coz Halifax was the only Pat's schoolhouse location I visited before signing up.

5. I feel assured of good quality of childcare, so money is well spent.

6. My son is on full-day. There are definitely kiddos who are on full-day.

7. Being kiasu, I will be...when the time comes. Top of my mind will be Chinese.

8. I think so, that's what Pat's good for, right?

Hi mummies,

i am also considering Pat’s schoolhouse at Jubilee Park for my 2yo and would greatly appreciate any feedback and comments on this school.

i spoke to the acting principal and she sounded very nice. However, i did not get to speak to the teachers as they were occupied with some program when i went to visit them. Is is true that the quality of the teachers are not as good as other pat’s schoolhouse since they were "taken over" by Pat’s? As the school fees are considered expensive to me, i would like to get some assurance that the money would be well spent.

Any mummies with children in P1 and formerly from Pat’s can share how your kids transit to P1?

Many thanks in advance and Cheers!
