and umm, on holiday classes. Generally speaking, i don't subscribe to this unless it's for a very specific theme/objective. nothing to do with tas or any other schools, I find that time and effort is needed for a child to absorb. I'm happy to send my kid for science holiday classes for example; but I would think that language classes would be a bit waste of time and money.
had ever send my kid to a chinese idiom holiday class before. end of the classes, he could recite chinese idioms beautifully (the whole book somemore); but after 3 months, all give back already (or maybe all passed out already) and he couldn't remember much. Now nonid to say, definitely all gone.
after that lesson, no more liao. -
My girl also the same, first year, she still blur although she was in mid primary (p3-4), she
still could not catch things fast and so could not apply well in school and for comprehension also still could not apply techniques. But second year onwards, she got the hang of it much more.
But I also need to sit with her and coach her for compre as she sometimes does not get the hidden meanings kind. I think it has to do with the way she thinks, cannot ‘juan’. Like Math, the same.
For holiday classes, I think its good if you are unsure about TAS or any other centre and want to try out and see how is their teaching like.
I know of a friend’s friend who is a TAS regular holiday class kid, he does not go for regular class, but goes only for their holiday class. The mum says too troublesome to fetch every week. But I feel that normal classes are better, holiday is touch and go but its good for getting a feel of the centre and the teachers and methods. -
Any idea on their schedule for June Holidays classes?

Yes, I also asked as I want my kids to go for extra pumping this holidays…at first they said not having but yesterday, I talked to the admin girl and she said they are having in on 4 and 5 June as it seems like many parents want it.
Timing should be morning. They will provide details by this weekend. If I know the details when I go down this weekend, I will help put it up if it is not up by then. -
Thank you very much TAS parents for answering my queries. I may most probably join TAS holiday programmes and then see how from there. This distance is still something I have to doubly consider if I join their regular classes.
By the way, anyone knows when their volume 2 of the creative writing book will be sold at Popular. I introduced it to my friends and they want to get at Popular as Ang Mo Kio is a bit far for them to travel down to get. -

Yes, student can buy 1 book each at $15. Non-students can get at $15 if there are 10 books and above.
