Hi mummies,
Does the teachers reward the kids very often? My boy comes back with new scissors, pencils, stationery now and then. He say some from teachers, some from his friends... maybe some bought by himself. I am not sure. How do you all control all these \"unnecessary\" spending? -
Hi,
My son is going to be P1 in 2013 and De La Salle is our first choice for him.
Would like to ask Catholic parents out there about the requirements for registration under Phase 2B.
Do I need a letter from my parish priest or would a certificate of baptism be sufficient to register?
Thanks in advance! -

Any parents out there have encounter any teachers in DLS being ‘abusive’?
2 of my oldest children are there but I am not intending to put my youngest there next year. I do not find DLS a holistic learning school anymore. I have mummy complaining to me about her boy being smacked on the hand & hair pulled by the teacher. Recently, my boy encountered with the same teacher. Firstly, he forgot to bring his school homework that’s his fault. The teacher called me. His first question to me was "he did not do or did not bring"? I told the teacher off for being judgmental. Then the other female teacher, started poking my boy’s head becoz he forgot to bring! Apparently, for this lesson there is a female & male teachers. I am just gonna complaint to the office or even MOE.
Second incident, last week the mid & upper pri had their sports day. My gal came back & told me a teacher was so rude to them. 3 of them wanted to go to the toilet. Before they could open their mouth, the teacher said, "shut up and go away"! I asked her if she knew the teacher & she said no but he is definitely from DLS.
I wonder are these teacher creating more work for parents when the kids are already drowning in their daily homework, yet we have to do recovery for them! I hv spoken to old students from DLS and they are shocked such teachers are teaching there. As much as we are lacking in teachers, I believe MOE & the school should still be more restringent in selecting their teachers. And what more, a Catholic School! They should constantly reflect on their core values,
And parents can share what would they do given such situation. -

Hi Jas007
My girl is in P1 but not 1C… why not write to the teacher in charge to check on the studies/work issue? -
Hi Jas007,
My boy in 1H. Anything we can discuss here? Actually I have a lot of questions too, like the teachers' rewarding system, who to ask for my boy's topics to be tested etc... My boy seem to be very blur. He doesn't seem to understand when I ask him did the teacher told him exactly which pages of his textbooks will be tested or what does he has to revise for his test. He will say the teacher never say things like that, to the extent that I have to message the teachers but I don't like doing that too often cos the teachers might have already informed them but my boy just didn't get it. Or he din understand the importance when the teachers highlight some topics to him. It can be quite frustrating for us when we want to prepare him for his tests. I am looking forward if the P1 parents here can share more info with me...
