I have a couple of friends with another school of thought... that pre-teaching children to pre-empt and also look out for such characters can make children overly paranoid over everyone they meet. Imagine looking at all male teachers one kind and they recluse into a scary corner where they see evil everywhere... in everyone.

Train to shout and scream not just cos someone touches them. Must tell them to answer immediately when we call for them so we know they're there where they said they would be.. cannot wander off without telling or asking for permission first.

Ah, I should have clarified. My oversight. I meant that the kids should be trained to scream when someone touches them inappropriately, not just when they are brushed against by accident or their coach hugs them. It's to teach them how to differentiate between a good touch and a bad touch. Definitely, freaking the kids out by training them to be paranoid is not the way to go. It's just that I find our Singaporean kids sometimes too 'kuai'. It's been drilled into them that they should obey authority figures and not kick up a fuss even when things don't seem right, and that frankly scares me. Too many authority figures have abused their positions of power. Therefore the need to re-programme.

as for 48 men inside jail, they should spend meaningful time inside, reflect upon their actions. In their past, if their parents had not taught them proper moral values upbringing from young OR their parents actually painstakingly did several times but they just didn't bother to listen to their heartache parents (one ear in, one ear out), then is high time for them to revise moral education.

Every week, Taoist or Buddhist Monks / Cathoiic Priests / Pastors (depending on their faith) should make an appointment pay all 48 a visit inside prison cell - teach them moral values, remind them of the bad, evil consequences of vices. Teach and remind them to turn over a new leaf. Repentance.
