Ver easy to break the toilet bowl stand as well as the basin stand.

All you need to do is to hit it constantly with the hard side of the brush when scrubbing the floor. You would crack it eventually. Even a tiny crack is enough to have a wet floor.

Hahha, when we do the work ourselves, we are very careful.

Listen to how the maids including part time maids wash the toilets. When you hear ‘clank, clank’ means something is hitting against the ceramic stand.

It says something when a normal upbringing has become a luxury. Sob!!

After having multiple conversations with many friends of different backgrounds, I have come to the conclusion that a ‘normal’ upbringing is actually not the norm! It IS a luxury. Many, many of the people I know come from dysfunctional families. (Or maybe I just attract that sort of friends!) The parents don’t necessarily have to be divorced; they can be not on speaking terms; they can be on screaming terms; they can be abusive in loads of different ways (emotionally and mentally). Gosh, the list just goes on. It takes real commitment by the couple to continue to love each other so that their little family unit can thrive. In our time (I’m in my 30s), I think parents couldn’t be bothered about the niceties of engagement cos they were busy with making a living, which resulted in lots of unpleasant memories for a lot of us now… I’m just sad that it’s spilling over into the next generation’s lives as well

Even today, I have friends who have hubbies like applecrisp’s… married macham like not married. always drinking/socialising till the wee hours, book own holiday when wife abt to give birth, not there when wife delivering, a few times a night never come home… but the wife says i chose this man.

有时候真的惨不忍睹。。。painful even for a bystander to observe.

The above situations quoted are not unreal. At least it sounds v similar to mine & apple crisp. Thanks for so many similar sharing. Great for those seeing lights after tough perservance (I think so). It must b super painful process as I’m goin thru it now. Dun want kid to hv divorced parents yet holding on knowing the other partner not committed wholeheartedly. Salute to those who succeed in changing situation. I wonder how a man could live with their conscience when he ‘betrayed’ his partner:(
God bless & hope religion or religious belief may help ease the painful process if this is what god is testing our will power.
This is definitely a good channel for wives facing same problem to ‘destress’ knowing n learning from others. Thanks!

Agree that one should take care of oneself when spouse really don’t even borther that wife bother about what H is doing. But by detaching from H will that lead to ‘normalising the unnormal’ as acceptable. Love is not about changing someone to b what u expect. How to ‘numb’ those pain & feeling? How to love someone without pain when u know he does not care? Sound confusing! How to just live like a "living dead marriage" n still b happy! Loneliness creep in while waiting to see the lights…Sorry if I share too much n bored all.

I will not deny that it was a lonely period, those years when DH was out most nights. I often lament that I was lonelier married then when I was single. I am fortunate to have wonderful friends and a very close knit family.

I think DH and I are able to come out of that period with our marriage relatively intact because DH does love me. It is not a situation where he got himself into a marriage which he regrets and is staying out of obligation. There was no 3rd party. For him, during that period, he was not ready to let go of his singlehood lifestyle. And he was seeking escape from his stress outside instead of confiding in me because he felt inferior towards me. I was drawing a higher pay and was ahead of him in my career.

Maybe I knew deep down that DH is a decent guy, struggling with his own issues. That was why I stuck around. If he had been unfaithful towards me, I do not think I will stay. I am not that forgiving and I do not want my kids to think that it is ok to cheat or live with a cheating spouse.

It goes without question that everyone wants a marriage where the spouse is there for you and the union is an equal partnership with each supporting the other and respecting each other. But in many instances, things do not turn out the way we want them to. So we have to just make the best out of it. If we decide to stay, we will have to learn to let go and unfortunately, for some of us, we may eventually have to accept that, that’s they way things are and will be.

It helps to talk about it and vent. So talk to your friends or come here and vent. We are never totally alone unless we isolate ourselves.
