Of course everyone agrees that they belong to different degrees of crime.
But let's not blind ourselves that BOTH are crimes.
Our big peeve is what we see as major inconsistencies in the application of the law in this case and Anthony Ler's case.
Or are you insinuating that it is alright for the underaged to steal since stealing should be a 'lesser' crime than prostitution (under the eyes of most people)? -
Prostitution is not a crime here. Everyone knows that. If you want to go into morality, you can also talk to Talibans about stoning rape victims to death because they have ‘enticed’ their rapists.
Is there a need to insinuate anything? To compare Anthony Ler and this takes a huge leap of imagination, or is it emotion?
Of course you can hate the prostitute in question, but it is no way near murder and the men are hardly helpless victims. -

Prostitution is not a crime; but underaged prostitution is. And underaged prostitution is what we're talking about here. So am I right to say that this is a crime now?
Committing major crimes like murder reaps capital punishment. Committing lesser crimes reaps lesser punishment. Agree?

No you are not right. You need to read up more. I am referring only to the prostitute in question.

I am not insinuating anything. It is clear as daylight where the flaws in your statements are. I am not here to flame you though. I am merely responding to the comparison between Anthony Ler’s case and this. It is unfortunate that you have to be so emotional about this.

And I’m wondering why was the 16yr old boy in the Anthony Ler’s case found guilty where else this 17yr old gal is seen to be well protected by the law. Please don’t try to throw any more red herrings cos I’m not saying that she should serve the same sentence as manslaughter/murder. Just something befitting her crime.

The herrings are not from me. She did not commit a crime by Singapore law. As an underaged individual, she receives protection from the court. Of course it’s up to u whether or not u want to read up some more, though I think perhaps what some of u want is to for the law to be reconsidered in cases such as this.

That’s precisely what I’m questioning. Why is she so well protected by the LAW where else that 16 yr old boy didn’t? It doesn’t sit right by me cos I totally don’t think she deserving of that kind of privilege.
I rest my case.
