Hi, the brand is Sukha House. you can order online http://www.sukhahouse.com/ or check out the medical shops or grocery shops in the neighbourhood. I bought mine from the neighbourhood grocery shop. I mix with white rice to cook in normal rice cooker, the usual way, no extra step. Taste good (at least no one has complained anything ;p)

          Hi Shurley197323,

We only eat brown rice at home. I buy the NTUC housebrand. No need to soak overnight. Through trial and error, I found out that you need to double or triple the amt of water used for the amt of rice being cooked. I use 2 and a half or 3 cups of water for 1 cup of rice, depending on how soft I want the rice to be. I do not add oil or salt 😄

My kid’s PD told me that brown rice causes phlegm, thereafter, I stop giving it to them, and their phlegm problem actually improve.

For partents who are giving brown rice to their kids, please take note.

Phlegm as in phlegm cough...not running nose.

I thou I heard wrongly too n double confirm with the doctor, yah, she said brownrice will cause phlegm. Dun know abt scientifice prove, but after I stop giving it to my kids, their phlegm cough did go away.

I did mine juz like yours, i mix half white rice and half brown rice. Once a wk i will cook brown rice porridge for lunch, it taste more yummy than norm white porridge.

Apparently this elephant brand organic brown rice has a few variation, sm come with 1, 2 or 3 elephants on the packing. The shopkeeper told me the more the elephants the rice taste better. I used to buy the 3elephants but has been out of stock for quite awhile so im buying the 1elephant, really cant taste the different, if im nt wrong the price is the same.

I am using Naturel organic brown rice.

Initially I did not mix with white rice. #2 was badly constipated. The physician in Ma Kuang told me it is actually better for my boy to eat porridge cooked with white rice and suggested to mix 1:1.

I usu. soak the rice combo for an hour, then cook for 2 hours. The porridge is very smooth.

Re: brown rice causes phelgmy cough

We have been taking the rice + brown/red brown rice combo for 2 years almost daily, so far didn't really encounter more frequent phelgmy cough though ... maybe different pple different reactions or we still haven't been eating enough brown rice?? :xedfingers:
