      ngsc23:
Her son is not in HPPS. Her hubby is old boy of SJI junior. Which I think is ST michale in the past and now SJI junior.

The report is not correct. Her son is in SJI junior.

She did not apply for HPPS.
regardless which school, it does not matter

some \"angry parents\" just too free and boliao ...... shall alert Zoe Tay to read this ksp ...... she is next door to my friend's house .....

        going forward -

in future, any celebrity from the Arts and Entertainment TV, cinema media, movie industry world who are currently / intending to be a parent volunteer to place their child in one of the Top branded schools - good to learn a lesson here. If you know you’re a celebrity, try not to invite gossip. If some kaypoh reporters ask, "so which school you enrol your child for P1 ?" Just diplomatically reply, "Well, still considering. we haven’t decide yet."

it is always good to remain low profile, at all times.
You are only a parent volunteer. Not even sure if child eventually gets in or not. Even though you PV but on that actual registration 2B / 2C day esp. in hot, popular Top branded schools, even if stay less than 1 km, many people also balloting alongside with you! Is all luck on that day.

So BEFORE child has even enter, try not to raise commotion in the press. Otherwise back fire, if child eventually don’t get in for whatever reason(s), inviting unnecessary negative feedback, back leash gossip from public.

if remain low profile, just go about doing PV duties quietly like any ordinary parent volunteer in school, nobody bother. Everyone so busy with their own lives, with jobs, with children, etc.

eg: Chen Li Ping is one good example.
She entered quietly by phase 2C. Lady luck was with her, she got in through balloting! After her child got in, Chen remained humble, low profile. So nobody bother her, leaving her and her child study peacefully at Nanyang.

anyway, whether Philip ex boy from SJIJ or Henry Park, Philip is still an alumni who came in by phase 2A, one phase earlier before 2B. This is in accordance to P1 MOE registration rules. So those bunch of people who wrote in complain to Temasek times … are really too much, too free, nothing else better to do.

无聊的人! So free to make complaints, why don't they spend more time with their kids to ensure they learn good conduct, perseverance & resilience? These are the qualities that will benefit the kids in the long run. Primary school, no matter how branded won't guarantee the kids to be successful in future wat.

Zoe Tay’s is none of my business.

Reading the original posting in TR, my feeling is people are upset as they suspect foul play.

If they did not register their son under phase 2A initially. But only do it after they realised they cannot get Nanyang at 2B, then it’s not right. Since when can we go back to earlier phase once it has passed? If this is allowed, alot of parents could have take the chance since they have their primary school to fall back on.

But if they registered their son under phase 2A and upon evaluation of their chance at Nanyang and decide not to go ahead even though they have PVed,etc… then this is fair. People should not waste time talking about this.

              I simply ignore Temasek Times.

That blog is just a shit stirrer and publishes anything sensational without verifying the accuracy or the source. (Pardon my language)

                mummy so kiasu:
No big deal. One of my hubby nephews went to Nanyang Pri but ended up in neighborhood sec school. My nephew is in P5 this year & also in Nanyang Pri School. His school result is not good & most probably end up in neighborhood school too.

some Nanyang,Rosyth and Raffles kids are in neighbourhood sec school too. It's not how you start but how you end 😂

If her hubby is alumni at HPPS, she would have applied under Phase 2A and got a seat. Though she volunteered at NYPS, it would be under Phase 2B. By Phase 2B, when she had realised that beyond 2km had no chance of getting in NYPS, she would not have put in another application for NYPS and just accepted her initial Phase 2A successful application for HPPS.

I think she had \"strategise\" but circumstances had not been in her favor so she did not get her 1st choice. I doubt there is controversy in the system in this instance. But her \"advertising\" of her 1st choice school for her kid has certainly put her kid and herself in an unfavorable condition.
yes, this is most likely the case.... those who complained and complained don't have any clue how the system works and strategised it to their advantage.... obviously during P2A her hub would have registered at HPPS as a backup (aka their 2nd choice) just in case they can't get into NYPS in P2B...

if i'm her or the sch P, i also don't bother to reply... why should i? i don't owe anyone an ans..... unless they complain to MOE then the P got to say something but i doubt MOE would want to bother about such ignorance ppl....

being kiasu, how you start could have won half the battle, if continue to fight well, and of course the end is how you end

if you start at the wrong place the wrong way, then got to fight extra hard

all schools are good, but not the same good --- yet

Just look after your kids. Do not fret whether a celebrity’s kid is in a popular school whereas yours is in a neighbourhood one.

It depends more on home enviroment and upbringing which can neutralise someone studying in a highly popular school. Whether one school is more equal than another is not the main point.
