      august24:
Tomorrow's MT oral & EL1, yet sch gave so much hw tt need to hand in the next day. DS came home close to 5pm as EL oral today till 4.30pm.

This is the 1st time I told him cannot finish nvm, the most ่ฟŸไบค. But still, i'm upset as he will have more hw piled up & no time to revise his MT1 on Fri.
Teachers have been piling on homework at the wrong time...like nobody's business actually :slapshead: ...these 3 weeks are so crucial. Last week was oral week, this week for compo and next week actual papers after vesak day holiday. How can the teachers be so :siao: to pile on such homework ? what good does it serve to make kids finish homework ? I told my son to just focus on memorizing the heading, conclusion, good phrases tonight...no need to do homework. I will write letter to teacher to explain if she is not happy.

I agree with you. The tests are more important than the homework, at this point in time.

How can we expect children to pass difficult tests if overloaded with homework (at the same time as the tests that are to be sat).

Some teachers give homework for the sake of giving ... In my DD case, there are quite a few worksheets given out since term 1 still haven't return back to us :faint: ... so i presume they are not marked yet. ๐Ÿคท

                  Hi mn,

Once th paper is over, whether easy or tough, we have to encourage our children not to dwell too much on it. Concentrate on the next paper / challenge. Move on ... Jia you ! :stompfeet:

and all the best to your DS for the rest of his SA1 exams ! :rahrah:

DD is having science paper tomorrow. HCL is next Tuesday! She said Eng & Maths were okay but MT is tough. DD didnโ€™t really prepare well for SA1 as she was involved in SYF. So I donโ€™t set my expectation so high this time.
