Actually is it true that there is no right or wrong answer for Science as long as answer make sense?

Hehe, that was what I thought. But no, does not work that way. Answers must be specific to the question and not general like the 'living thing' answer to the question you posted. -

I agree with Funz.
Actually, it is true that there is no such thing as correct answer so long the concept is correct if the child cannot translate his concept to words that is in 'scientific/keywords/specific' style. It's a pity.
Take for instance on the question of \"The picture shows a boy with three shadows. Explain how is it possible. [2 marks]\" (under topic of Light in P4 science syllabus).
Will the teacher accept
Ans 1. Because there are 3 light source.
or
Ans 2. Because there are 3 light source shining down from different directions.
or
Ans 3. Because there are 3 light source shining down from 3 different directions.
or
Ans 4. Because there are 3 light source shining down at the boy from 3 different directions, therefore casting 3 shadows. -

I think she put the answer as both cannot move by itself, will she get it wrong?
My DD's teacher will mark it wrong for sure. All living things can move by itself (characteristic of living thing). You must use the word freely or from place to place.
Eg:
Both can not move freely
or
Both can not move from one place to another
Hope this helps -

Hi,HAPPYH:
Sorry a Science question from my P3 gal's test paper. What is one similarity between a plant and a mushroom? Cannot use \"living thing\" as the answer.
anyone can help?
If the plant is not a non-flowering plant, you can say the following:
Both can't move from place to place freely
Both respond to changes slowly
PS: For P3 level, yes, all non-flowering plants reproduce by spores, but some non-flowering plants do reproduce by seeds. I can not remember the examples, but I am sure that I saw this in more than one book (assessment book???? guide??? Not sure).
Some suggested answers:
- Both need air, food and water to survive
- Both cannot move from place to place by themselves
- Both respond to changes around them by moving some of their plant parts
- Both can reproduce
Someone suggested to avoid statements such as 'All non-flowering plants reproduce by spores.' Conifers is an example of a non-flowering plant that reproduce using seeds.
Yes yes yes, Conifer reproduce using seeds. Thank you for giving the example. Actually I saw few more examples. I update here if I come across those questions again -
Hi peopot!
Ok i remember they test like give fern’s and mushroom’s pictures.and ask what is the similarity in both.
Then the answer is both are produced by spores. -

3 too as fins helps the dolphin swim, the tail helps to move forward like our legs while the flippers help to push forward like arms, the fins helps to keep balance! Not to flip over.
