hi
i don't get the impression that it is very academic-driven like the other schools. the psle grades of the school is a rough estimate of how much focus on academic results there is, all things equal. my kid is in p1 and she is having fun at school.

Hi, my daughter is in P2. She has been transfer to MCS last January 2012 and also we have moved to SG last year. Singapore education standard is much more higher and my girl is trying hard. But I am worried with her class teacher. She always expect to get full marks in every subject or she gets angry! Even though my girl is enjoying school but get scared of the teacher if she could not do her task properly. So I am noticing she is losing her confidence. What should I do or is it possible to change her class? Thanks

Hi zNz, I can understand your situation. When my dd was in P2, she was initially very anxious that she can’t meet the mark set by her form teacher. She couldn’t eat and rest well for almost a week! My advice to you like what I did was to gather more concrete remarks from my girl on what this teacher said and then made an appointment to meet the teacher to sort things out. It worked very well and thereafter the teacher was very assuring and often checked back with me on how my dd was progressing with the rest of her class.
So this can be tried first for your case. Just hope it is not the same teacher. Else she has yet to learn her lesson!
