The software is new in the market.

I have not come across that before
when my girls were younger or when
DD1 was with Tumble Tots… Maybe you
can consider getting that for starters, so
you will know how the letter sounds are
supposed to be pronounced before you
        attempt to teach your child.

I first bought the Letterland cards and Alphabet Songs CD.
Later on after i found the songs rather interesting, i bought
the Action Songs and Handwriting songs as well. πŸ˜‰
Click page 1 of this thread to see how the items look like.. πŸ˜„

I also chanced upon the Letterland stories set in Popular,
i quickly picked it up as it was the last one! Phew... boy
i was soooo excited when i saw it. Buuuttt, just
like Montessori materials, the Letterland stuff are also
equally expensive. πŸ˜› However, if you plan to teach
more than 1 child, the investment should be quite
sound. Just remember to keep the materials in a
safe place. :celebrate: Hope this helps.

              Uh-Oh:
              Hi buds,

my little imp's cc is using Letterland, wat do u think of it? I just bought one letterland book recently, but dunno how to go abt teaching my boy. U got any precious suggestions? My imp is 2 y/o.

              thks for yr attention.
Can you share what the book is about (content) or mebbe post up how the book looks like in your next post? Mebbe if i see it then, i can relate to you some simple stuff you could use with it. If it's something i dun have, i would be keen to get it too. Hehehee.. πŸ˜‰

2yrs old learning Letterland introduction should be quite fun. Songs, games, stories, crafts, tracing activities should be included. Children also should get to work with the Letterland cards, where they are introduced and shown to familiarize with the Letterland characters and the letter shape they each represent, plus the sound that character makes. Your lil' impy would love it, i think... at least i did. I mean, at least my DD did. (enjoy her Letterland introduction lessons @ Tumble Tots).

                  Hi buds

I just bought the leap frog phonics dvd however i realised that some of the alphabets pronounication is different from what my boy has learnt…
thought of switching him to leapfrog but realised that they only sell CD and activity books. Do they come in DVD?

                    Uhmm? :?

I dunno if i understand you correctly...
You mentioned you just purchased a Leapfrog Phonics DVD.
Then at the last part you mentioned uhhmm switching to Leapfrog?
Ermm.. i was wondering why you were referring to the same thing?
                    Please correct my blurness.. :?:

I'd be happy to assist you with the pronunciation part if you'd share
with me which are the sounds you have doubts about. Currently, which
Phonics methodology is your child learning? Is it from his school or the
one you're reinforcing at home with him?

                      Hi buds

                      Thanks for ur reply. πŸ˜„
                      You are welcome. πŸ˜„

For e cards u mention iszt e first reading flashcard?
I do think it is, yes. But i see whether i can dig out mine to confirm.
                      spring:
If i buy e flashcards, do i stil need to buy e ABC book?
The cards feature all the lower case Letterland characters, if i do recall
correctly. Each card shows one side of the pictogram letter and the
reverse side shows the plain letter shape, so that with just a flick of the
card with your wrist, help to associate the characters with the actual
letter. So i would say the cards are used to introduce the Letterland
characters for young learners. From these characters the children begin
to learn the shape it takes after and also they sound the letters make....

The Letterland wall frieze should also help in this instance of introduction.

To my knowledge, the ABC book contains individual character stories
accompanied by colourful illustrations. For example...

\"Bouncy Ben is such a busy rabbit - busy bouncing his ball and playing
games, and busy bouncing into words too. Bouncy Ben and his two
brothers all live in a burrow near the Letterland bridge. Can you see
one of Ben's brothers peeping out of the burrow? Everyone likes to
watch Ben playing his favourite game. It is very clever. He balances a
ball on his head, right between this big brown ears....\" (etc)

In the pictures, the children can enjoy discovering numerous items
beginning with their sounds. This activity alone shows whether your
child can associate letter / character with its corresponding letter
                      sounds.
                      spring:
ermmmm..... can u advise me on how to carry out teaching her e introduction of letter sound n shape using letterland?
Yes, can. But i'll need to dig out the barangs (things) from my
resource cupboard to help you have a visual interpretation of
a lesson. It will benefit you better than having a typed script
                      on its own. πŸ˜‰
                      spring:
N for tracing, can i jus get those fr popular?
Tracing activities for finger tracing or for pre-writing?
If you have time, they can also be done on your own.
If no time to spare, those from Popular should suffice. πŸ˜‰
                      spring:
For e handwriting song, how does it help when it comes to tracing of letters?
As per the title of the audio cd itself, the Handwriting Songs assist
children with fun songs on how to trace / write the letter shapes in
the proper fashion. For example... for letter \"c\", the character is
Clever Cat. And i personally like this one.. πŸ˜„ It has a very cute
                      ring/tune to it.

                      \"Curve round Clever Cat's face to begin...\"
\"Then, gently tickle her under her chin...\"

The songs guide children to trace / write from top to bottom and
from left to right. Interesting technique and definitely catchy! πŸ˜‰
                      spring:
Sorri.... bombarding u with so many questions.
Yes! Yes! This is definitely bombarding boy! :!: Buutttt.... it's all for
good cause. As buds can tell how excited you are to learn. And for
that reason alone, buds will find time to share a lesson with you.

                      Look out for it!
