      One more sugg.

Why we have to go so…far just to see the marks and paper ? As we don’t get to see the COMPOSITION(nibhandha) paper, where children loose their marks.

yesterday just to see 10 min. paper we have to rush from office(because eve. 7.30 weekday ), to reach the destination again Q up for so long, then teacher was not able to find all (paper2/A,3/B and mark sheet) at the same time.

      such a cause was there…

Why Hindi soc./DAV gives papers to the respective teachers? so that parents can go to the nearby school to see the paper.

One more adv…respective teacher will able to tell a child their mistakes.

because she knows her children very well.

And no need to take mock test in diff. schools, the marks are not counted so can take in their own schools.

      Thanks

I agree that the class teacher should go through the paper with the parent or child as they are the one who know the child's strengths/weaknesses.

I could not make it yesterday and when I checked, I was told that the teachers can't take the papers from the school yesterday and so no chance to see the papers at all for me!

Exactly what I am protesting for please join Facebook group Hindifoundation or email to [email protected] ....to join the chain mail effort to make positive change ..HIgh hopes but as they say Ekta mein bal hai ...hope you will help .

As a concerned parent and an educator I also feel the need to see the evaluated paper to understand the knowledge gaps for the children and to be able to improve upon them but it remains as a closely guarded secret which even the respective teachers don't have access to ....even for he so called MOck exam which wasn't shared either ....SO MUCH FOR MOCK Preparation....well meant effort but the outcome not communicated to improve for the main exam so totally wasted.

                Hi,

I understand that the mock exams will be in the centres itself. Not sure about the SA though.

Last Saturday, the hindi oral exams were conducted.Time given was 11:30 - 3:30 pm. Some kids had to wait for their turn till 5:30 pm.My girl came out at 4 pm,they were not allowed to eat.I understand that with the growing number of children taking hindi,DAV/Hindi Society is also pressed for teacher’s time. But I feel that these language schools can also be more organized in conducting the exams. In some classes the tape for the listening comprehension was not audible/spoilt.

I do not understand why Hindi should be conducted as a board exam right from P1.It is perfectly fine if they want to conduct it as a board exam for P5-P6 at the primary level. Why can’t the exam be conducted in school for lower primary levels? It is a torture for both parents and children. The syllabus standard is also very high. Also, this time the exams are conducted early.
I have tried calling MOE on this matter, nobody returned the call.If you write to them, they will say that they are trying to improve the process
.To me, it looks like the MOE person in charge of conducting/co-ordinating the South-Asian languages exam is simply not aware of the ground reality.
Somebody in this forum, please advise me ,how to get this to the MOE’s attention.

                    Hi pupilview,

One word answer - No use! I don't think MOE is really interested and I've given up on DAV. 2 years back, me and a friend spent around an hour talking to Mr. Bhajan Singh, who is the head of the BTTSAL (I think) and he kept nodding his head for all suggestions we gave - result is no change in anything!

How come your exams were in the afternoon? Is your girl in Hindi Society? At DAV it was from 7:30 am to 12:30. Imagine 5 hours for just oral exams! They finish much earlier, but do not release children. I just dont understand why they need to club two classes together - as it is with just one class you are looking at a few hundred students. Also the school for DAV was such a problem. The school is in a main road, entrance is this tiny one and when you go to pick up the children, you have to literally wade through a throng of parents and then shout out for your child!

Just don't understand why they can't stagger timings - as if someone is going to cheat over this! Keep 2-3 hours for a batch of students and then swap! Instant crowd control!

We can talk about this till the cows come home - don't think anything is going to happen anytime soon....

                      Hi Pupilview
My son finished his oral @ 5 pm..so frustating for us..5 mts break was given to him it seem..luckily i packed some drinks n food for him..so saved the day for him..Its true what u say recorders were of poor quality..esp the teachers were keep on insisting students to repeat again n again as recorder was not loud enough to record their voice...I got tired of complaining..Its like breaking heads on the wall..There is no proper system ,no pre preparation, teachers quality of teaching is worst but expectation frm the students are high...

This is so true. As far as I know most of the teachers, especially in the Kindergarten and lower primary are not qualified teachers. I know people who used to be housewives with no teaching certifications who teach since 'it's just Hindi which everyone knows'

My children's regular school says thats the reason they don't want to have Hindi in school because the teachers are not qualified!

But for children, the level of Hindi expected is very high - much more than in India I feel - more so, because here, you don't have a Hindi speaking environment everywhere.
