I bought Nordic peach flavor for my son…but that fishy smell is still so strong. Bought Scott’s emulsion orange. Only give 2-3 times a week bcos I’m afraid the orange flavor could induce cough or phlegm. Realize boy doesn’t have sinus the next morn when he takes a dose at night.

Sometimes I give manuka too. When my son sat for exams last year, I gave him chicken essence. Gotta pump up those supplements plus lots of liquids this week.

                Hi Msplee,

I won't advise mixing multiple probiotic & fish oil together. Fish oil (or flaxseed oil) best taken in the morning. Probiotic before sleep or in between meals.

Actually for 7-8 yrs & below, it is advisable to only give flaxseed oil. Barlean's is a safe brand. It is organic.

I have no info or tried Childlife so I can't comment. But the 2 type of supplements you have choose will definitely help to build up yr child's immune system 🙂

You can get both of them at iHerb. From to May 14th, iHerb is offering 10% off orders of $60 or more. Or, receive 5% off orders totaling less than $60. You can click on this link to get another $5 off your purchase (if it is your first): http://www.iherb.com/?rcode=YEN647

Hi All Lovely Parents, I am new to this thread. As I am a concern parent of providing supplements to my boy.

I had come across a scientist in microbiology that mention it is not good to expose growing kids to supplements or vitamins. She advises more plants and fruits. Even for omega-3, we need plant-based omega-3 which provides ALA where our body will convert it to DHA & EPA. No need to take it from the fishes.

                    Hope a little info helps.

I am providing my boy a plant & fruit based beverages daily which comprise of more than 15 fruits and plants. He likes it very much. Quite affordable with its rich content, $50 per box of 30.

Actually, if you want to quote someone, you should at least let people know whom you are quoting. Anyone can say so-and-so said this and that, but who can verify this?

Supplements are necessary, even for children. I'm sure parents know that we don't get the same quality of food in our diet as our parents do twenty years ago. Soil quality has decreased over the decades and with that, our natural food (vegetables and fruits) don't contain the same level of vitamins and minerals that they do in the past.

If you need expert advice on this, take it from someone like Dr Christine Wood MD. Pediatrician, who also wrote the book \"How to get kids to eat great and love it\". Dr Wood even came to Singapore and was interviewed by CNA (you can find this on YouTube).

Here's a link to an article she wrote on why kids need vitamins. A very insightful read. Check out the other article - Choosing a Quality Supplement, if you got some time.
