Thank you very much!Extracted from MOE's website:
I have purchased a yet-to-be completed property and should be moving in after the property is completed. Can I make use of the new home address for the purpose of registration?
Yes. The new home address can be used provided that you are able to produce evidence from the relevant authority that you have committed to the purchase of this property. In the case of private property, you must produce the original copy of the Sales and Purchase Agreement. The date of commitment by the developer in the Temporary Occupation Permit (T.O.P) must not be later than 31 Dec 2013. In the case of HDB flat, the Agreement for Lease is required. Parents must move into the new property within two years of the child’s entry into Primary One otherwise the child will be transferred out of the school.
If you register in 2014, so long as you move in to the new place by Dec 2016, you are allowed to use the address for P1 registration. -
By the way for Holy Innocents Primary, do Catholics get to register at Phase 2B?
-
Hi Parents,
I will be moving to Upper Serangoon in 2014 and our new place is within walking distance from both HIPS and and Monfort Junior. I’m thinking of registering my son at HIPS, but am concerned about the Higher Chinese and that the school son gis in Chinese - Any parents out there can advice if the school has a very chinese background? I’m Chinese but my husband is not, hence my son is of mixed parentage - I’m concerned about him being a "minority" in the school and not being able to cope with the standard of mandarin there.
Any feedback on Monfort Junior?
Appreciate any tips! Thanks. -
CHIJ Our Lady of Nativity
there was no balloting for Phase 1 to Phase 2B for past 2 years
(2010 & 2011).
Balloting was conducted for Phase 2C for those staying between 1-2 km for past 2 years.
Therefore, those staying outside 2-km had no chance to ballot.

I would like to get my boy into Hougang Primary School, which will be in the between 1KM to 2KM range. He is born in 2008 so registration will be in 2014, would anyone be able to advise on when to register as PV for the school and whether as PV he will have better chances of getting in?

You should check with the school now to see if PV application for your boy's year has already started. Quick! Quick! Don't http://www.freesmileys.org/emoticons.php. You should http://www.freesmileys.org/emoticons.php now.
Your boy has a very good chance if he qualifies under P2B. No balloting in P2B historically. -
Thanks qms!
Sigh I only just started reading up in the Pri 1 registration stuff after a colleague told me that I so slow haven't start looking. I didn't know it was so competitive & complicated. :?:
Worse is my hubby don't seem interested to help do some research. He was like that when previously looking for childcare... I was expecting my no. 2 yet had to call & go down visit the childcare centers. -

So, you have found the right place! Parents here are very helpful. They are more than willing to share their experience and viewpoints with you. So, just :?: here whenever you need any information.erista:
Maybe your hubby is the type who believes that all schools are the same?Worse is my hubby don't seem interested to help do some research. He was like that when previously looking for childcare... I was expecting my no. 2 yet had to call & go down visit the childcare centers.
